Last year, Connect moderators gathered in the Tokyo Google Office located on the top floor of the Shibuya Stream building.
During the breaks in the conference, I got an opportunity to click some photos of the streets and the skyscrapers of Tokyo in various directions.
Here are a few for your viewing pleasure.
This probably is the south side. Some construction is going on, but while walking on the ground, it is unnoticeable.
In Japan, they take utmost care not to disturb people around on the street because of building construction. A lot to learn here from the Japanese. ![]()
This view is probably from the South-West direction, showing the sky bridge.
These sky bridges facilitate the movement of people without getting out of the building and without having to cross the street in rain or sunshine.
Also seen in the bottom right corner is the entrance to the Tokyo subway.
This is the view looking east since the Tokyo Tower is seen in the distant far - Orange tower, which is also an emoji ![]()
This is the view in the west direction.
Nothing special here, though I could not take my eyes off the neat and clean streets, something that is a rarity in India.
This is the view panning a little more to the west.
It shows a vehicle flyover over a pedestrian flyover above the ground.
This is remarkable and I am seeing some of these coming up in Pune recently.
Here’s another view of the pedestrian walkover from a lower floor.
This is the view in the northern direction, where there is another huge skyscraper right across the street. Hence, it looks enormous.
This building is the Shibuya Sky Observatory - I visited here and more about it in another post.
That is not all.
Here’s the view of the Shibuya Building from the street.
Next is me inside the building on one of the top floors.
Night view of the two buildings in Shibuya Square.
Here’s another stunning perspective, looking at both buildings lying down - called the worm’s eye view ![]()
My First Impressions of Tokyo
It was my first day in Tokyo in daylight, though I had arrived the previous afternoon.
Everything was so tidy, neat, and clean - impressive…!
Have you ever clicked any interesting photos from a tall building?
Please share them in the comments.
