The Shibuya Sky is one of the four observation decks in Tokyo.
The other are:
- Tokyo Tower.
- Tokyo Sky Tree
- Tokyo Municipal building.
Of these, #3 is free.
It was located right across from the building that houses the Google office in Tokyo, so I simply walked over and bought the ticket from the counter at street level.
I looked up towards the building before ascending. I had never visited an observation deck at night previously. So it was a goosebumps moment.
I reached there in the late evening. The views were spectacular as the city truly dazzled.
Make sure to bring a jacket or warm clothes as it gets windy and the temperature drops.
Surprisingly, they had free lockers to store bags or any other shopping goodies that people typically carried with them at the end of a day exploring Tokyo.
The rooftop was crowded on a weekend when I visited, and there was a line to get to the most desirable corners.
I am not a selfie person, so I spend most of the time enjoying the spectacular view of Tokyo. Pity people who spent most of their time up there in queues
Here’s the view in the east showing the other popular observation deck called the Tokyo Tower. It is an iconic place in Tokyo and also has it own emoji
Here’s another breathtakingly beautiful view looking south.
Looking straight down are the amazing streets of Tokyo, and this one is the famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing
