Japanese Street Food - Savor the Gastronomic Delights of Tokyo

On the last day of the moderator’s meetup in Tokyo Google took us to the Meiji Jingu Shrine.

This was in October 2023

On the way to this place was a street lined with food carts.

We started from the famous Shibuya Square and walked behind the tour guide.

Most food stalls had text in the Kanji or Katakana scripts.

Fortunately, we had Google Translate to make selection easy.

We made small groups marveling at the various food items.

There was so much to choose from, and we were spoilt for choice :yum:

We chatted along discussing our day and activities at the Goole office.

Most food items were displayed with photos, so deciding which one to go for was no problem.

Though Google Office fed us well at lunch, we were already 2 hours past that.

The decorations were simple yet attractive and inviting to hungry local guides.

Surprisingly they were selling both hard and soft drinks on the street, watch your feet and marvel at the amazing patterns on the manhole covers of Tokyo.

If you are in Tokyo and walking past the Shibuya corner past toward the Yoyogi Park, these delightful food carts are not to be missed :yum:

No one can escape them

Die ganzen Imbisswagen sehr gut eingefangen, diese sind auch sehr hilfreich für den kleinen Appetit oder Durst.

Aus welchem Grund ist es ungewöhnlich, dass dort diese Getränke verkauft werden?

Thank You @Annaelisa

Out here in India, alcoholic drinks cannot be sold on the streets and only in select licensed stores,

Hence, I found this stall unusual.

@TusharSuradkar ji, Great post! The street food carts here remind me so much of India’s food carts. Your photos highlight the excellent quality and cleanliness in Japan, much better than India’s food carts.

Thank you @MerlinThomas

Let’s explore street food and food carts in Pune at the next meetup, especially in Wakad.

So, if you see any, please make a note

Completely agree @Maximilianozalazar

Food made on street cars is fast food  hence could taste not the same as restaurants.
