Adventure lovers often rush to the mountains for trekking. And one of the favorite places for mountain and trekking lovers is Bandarban in Bangladesh. I went to the highest Rungrang and Kristong hills of the Chimbuk Range of Bandarban. This was our 3 day and 4 night trip. I am describing the trekking to Rungrang and Kristong hills through a series of posts.
Here is my -

Here I am describing the experience the third and last day.
Mornings in the mountains begin very early. The people of the mountains wake up at the sound of the rooster crowing and start working. Last night, when we entered Khemchangpara after summiting the Kristong Hill, it was already evening when we entered the neighborhood. I think that one of the main reasons for the good health of the people of the mountains is timely sleep. I woke up at 6 am. I slept very well because I had been physically stressed the previous day. What is called a completely fresh sleep.
I had written earlier that the peak of Rungrang hill can be seen from Khemchangpara. I saw that the peak was sparkling in the morning sunlight. We will go there today.
I looked around the neighborhood a little. There is a serious shortage of water in Khemchangpara. We have to fetch water from the stream below. To be honest, as adventurous as life in the mountains seems to us, it is very difficult for the hill people. Meanwhile, our host cooked for us.
When we went trekking in the mountains, we only had cooked food for breakfast and dinner. We all sat down to eat.
Pictures of some food cooked while trekking in the mountains.
After eating, we took a group photo and headed towards Rungrang Hill.
We started walking to reach the summit of Rungrang hill along the Zoom path. On the way, we came across another beautiful view point. I wanted to sit there and pass the time. But that was not possible. I have to return today after reaching the summit of Rungrang hill. Time is short.
I am walking quickly, ignoring the crunching sound of dry leaves. A short distance from the summit of Rungrang hill, there is a Y junction. From there, one way leads to Rungrang hill and Menyang Para. On the other side, a large road cuts through the jungle of Khemchangpara and Kirs Tang. Some people were sitting there. And I moved forward to the summit point of Rungrang hill.
Walking along a dry, thin path, I climbed to the shoulder of Rungrang. What a steep forest! The sunlight is scattered far away and all around.
From an open space, the forest on the top of Rungrang was clearly visible. Finally, at 10:50 am, I reached the top of Rungrang hill. The height of the peak of Rungrang hill is 2797 feet.
In the month of victory, the country’s national flag was hoisted on the top of this hill.
Then we took the return route. Descending along the mountain path. On one side of the trail, it is completely steep, and on the south side it drops down like a ridgeline.
Along the way, we took a 20-minute break in a new neighborhood (not yet named). I later added that neighborhood to Google Maps.
We reached Dusri Bazar at 3:30 PM. From there we went to Alikadam by car. We took the 8 PM bus and returned to Dhaka at 5 AM the next day. Thus ended our 3 day and 4 night trip to Kirstong & Rungrang hills Summit.
The moments of climbing or descending the mountain were different. The vastness of the mountain reminded us of how small and helpless we are as humans. The vast emptiness beneath our feet. We all felt like our feet were slipping. We held each other’s hands tightly, thinking about ourselves and others every moment. That’s when it occurred to us that this is life. It’s not life to keep yourself alive, but to live well with everyone else.

Trekking tips:
For a comfortable and professional trekking, you need to carry a camping backpack, odomos cream, sunblock, dry food, (chanachur, muri, chocolate, almonds, cup noodles, dates), water bottle, lighter, knife, sunglasses, cap, compass, torch, match or other fire source, tent, active GPS system, nylon rope, plastic bag, identity card, toilet tissue, etc. Also important-
• A fleece suit, for sleeping at night and spending time comfortably in the evening.
• At least 2 pairs of T-shirts, socks
• Light trousers - usually made of microfiber, important for heat movement during the day.
• Light jacket-windbreaker. Required in the cool morning air.
• Raincoat or poncho
• It is better to have a head-lamp. Because it keeps your hands completely free, it is much more convenient to move in the dark during trekking.
