Adventure lovers often rush to the mountains for trekking. And one of the favorite places for mountain and trekking lovers is Bandarban in Bangladesh. I went to the highest Rungrang and Kristong hills of the Chimbuk Range of Bandarban. This was our 3 day and 4 night trip. I am describing the trekking to Rungrang and Kristong hills through a series of posts.
Here is my day 1’s post link : Trekking to Kirstong & Rungrang-Day 1
Here I am describing the experience of the second day.
We had reached Menyang Para at 10 pm the previous day. After having dinner, we were sleeping in the room of the neighborhood. We were so weak that we did not know exactly how the night passed. I woke up early in the morning. I wanted to see the morning sky. As soon as the sun rose, I was amazed by what I saw! The incredible beauty of the clouds captivated me.
In the morning, clouds were gathering on the mountains, I captured that scene on my mobile phone.
I made a video clip from the pictures I took with my cell phone.
We spent the morning sitting on the rooftop of our neighborhood, watching the clouds and chatting, when we were called out that it was time for breakfast.
After breakfast, we set off again for trekking to our next destination, Khemchangpara. To reach Khemchangpara, we had to cross the Rungrang Hills.
As I was leaving the Menyang neighborhood, I took a picture of a house in the neighborhood.
The mountain path to Khemchang Para is very impressive.
After crossing the Rungrang Hills, we came across the peak of Rungrang Para just before Khemchangpara, which we trekked to the next day.
After walking for about an hour and a half, we reached Khemchang neighborhood.
Khemchang Para is located at an altitude of about 2000 feet, very close to the Rungrang Tang peak of the Chimbuk Range. The altitude of the para is 2023 (+/-) feet according to offline GPS. It is possible to arrange the altitude from approximately 1995-2035 feet depending on the high and low surfaces of the para. One of the driest paras in Alikadam, there is a lot of water shortage here due to the lack of lakes nearby. And in the dry season, it is very important to be careful about water if you come here.
I am resting at the home of the indigenous people of Khemchang Para.
We had to take a rest here and trek to Kristong Hills that same day, so we made Khemchang Para our base camp.
To be continued…
