Adventure lovers often rush to the mountains for trekking. And one of the favorite places for mountain and trekking lovers is Bandarban in Bangladesh. I went to the highest Rungrang and Kristong hills of the Chimbuk Range of Bandarban. This was our 3 day and 4 night trip. I am describing the trekking to Rungrang and Kristong hills through a series of posts.
Here is my -

day 2’s post link (part 1) : Trekking to Kirstong & Rungrang-Day 2-Arriving Khemchang Para
Here I am describing the experience 2nd part of the second day.
I wrote in the previous post that we reached Khemchang Para at 12:15 PM. After taking a short rest, we set out for the Kristong hill peak summit at 1:45 PM.
After crossing Khemchangpara, there is a big uphill and downhill path. I cross it and move forward. Seeing the huge mother tree in front, my eyes are dazzled! It feels like I have come to another world. Along with the huge tall trees, there are thousands of small and big trees. The forest is so dense that the leaves of the trees melt and the sunlight does not reach the ground. The calls of various insects and the chirping and chirping of birds. I sat silently for some time listening to the chirping of these unknown birds.
I felt a little tired after climbing the mountain, so I sat down and took a rest.
While climbing the mountain, I made a collage of many natural scenery photos.
From the Kristong peak, the peaks of the high mountains far away can be clearly identified. Rows of mountains and the Twin Canal flowing between the mountains or the clusters of tribal settlements on the banks of the Sangu River. Where the sun plays hide-and-seek with the clouds. Green valleys all over the horizon. Sometimes it disappears behind the clouds, and then it wakes up by tearing the clouds apart.
Kristong, in terms of height, does not have much speciality. Through GPS, we got its height of 2969 feet, whereas there are 17 peaks above 3000 feet in Bandarban. However, the reason it is famous is that it is the 2nd most famous peak in Bangladesh. On the other hand, ‘Kirsa’ is quite famous as the mountain of birds. Currently, this bird is no longer here.
Finally, we summit Kristong hill peak at 3:40 pm.
We take a group photo at the top of Kristong Mountain.
At the top of the mountain, we had a light meal of muri (puffed rice) and chanachur.
It was around 6:30 PM when we returned to Khemchang Para, where we had stayed for a while at the top of Kristong Hill. We had stayed in Khemchang Para at night.
As we set off on our way back, the gusty wind blew and whispered in our ears, “Will you leave so soon?” I thought to myself, “Who wants to leave such a paradise? But yes, I have to go back.” I calmed myself down. While returning, I looked at the mountaintop with pain. I kept saying to myself, “Goodbye, Kristong. I will return another time. I will lay my head at your feet.”
