As I shared in my January 2026 post while introducing the Monthly Community-Led Meet-up Leaderboard initiative during #LGC10, community-led meetups are truly the heart of Local Guides Connect. They bring us together to learn, build meaningful connections, and strengthen local communities across the world.

the incredible efforts of our community in hosting and participating in meetups by presenting a country-wise leaderboard of participants—where every host is also counted as a participant.

Celebrating Meet-ups, Shaping Conversations: A Space for Learning and Clarity
Continuing this initiative, after analyzing February 2026, I have now reviewed the March 2026 meet-up data to go beyond just numbers—focusing on participation trends, recap practices, and areas for improvement. The goal remains the same:
Encourage timely recaps
Promote inclusive participation
Support the growth of active Local Guides communities worldwide
Overall Meetup Statistics
- A total of 83 meetup proposals were posted
- Organized by 63 Local Guides (Country wise meet-up host table is here)
- As of 23rd April 2026, the recap completion rate is 71% (24 recaps still pending)
Meetup Formats in March 2026:
- In-person meetups led the way (64%)
Virtual meetups had the highest documentation rate (~89%).
While in-person events were the most popular (53 events), they had the lowest recap submission rate (~64%), with many marked simply as “concluded.”
Overall, the community shows a strong commitment to documentation, with over 71% of meetups resulting in published recaps.
Engagement and Community Participation
Analyzing RSVPs, likes, and replies provides deeper insights:
Highest Attendance (RSVPs)
- TRAC 2026 Kick-off Meet-up – 68 Going
- Together We Lead (Women’s Day event) – 37 Going
- Maps Master Meetup (Bengaluru) – 27 Going
Highest Forum Interaction (Likes & Replies)
- TRAC 2026 Kick-off – 80 Likes, 47 Replies
- Women Alliance Meetup – 47 Likes, 52 Replies
- Halalbihalal Digital (Indonesia) – 51 Likes, 30 Replies
In-Person Engagement
Despite lower RSVPs, in-person meetups showed strong local participation:
- Delhi “7 Wonders from Scrap” Meetup – 13 Going
- Chawkbazar Iftar Photowalk – 13 Going
Country-wise Participation
It’s inspiring to see global engagement from Local Guides across countries. India hosted the highest number of meetups (30) followed by Bangladesh (19) and Indonesia (13) Explore country-wise meetup data here
Popular Meetup Tag & Themes
The most popular meetup tags in March were Photography and Local Businesses, as reflected in the graph below. These tags highlight the diversity of contributions within our community. Notably, seasonal and cultural gatherings emerged as the leading category, accounting for 28% of all meetups.

Key Gap: Missing Participant Details
- 18 recaps (22%) had no participant details
- Several others had incomplete lists

To make recaps more impactful and transparent, please include:
Total number of participants
Usernames of attendees
Suggested Format:
- Add a separate section: Participants
- Provide a complete list along with total count
