After 25 long years, I was back at the iconic Kamala Nehru Park in Pune.
The occasion was the Video Walk Meetup by amazing local guide @framesbysumedh
Back then, electronic waste was not an issue.
To raise awareness and facilitate electronic waste disposal, the park has now installed an e-waste disposal and collection center.
Walking through the quiet Kamla Nmehru Park, I stumbled upon this unexpected electronic waste collection and disposal center tucked between the greenery.
The sight of neatly labeled bins for old phones, chargers, and broken gadgets felt like a refreshing step toward responsible living.
It was inspiring to see how technology and nature could coexist when managed thoughtfully.
Electronic waste, if left untreated, releases toxic substances like lead and mercury into the soil and water, harming both the environment and human health.
By safely collecting and recycling e‑waste, we reduce pollution, conserve resources, and protect communities from hazardous exposure.
I think such an initiative inside the Kamala Nehru Park has made recycling accessible, reminding visitors that sustainability begins with everyday choices.
It also seemed to encourage children and families to learn about the importance of proper disposal, since the collection booth itself was made from 100% recyclable material.
