Detroit’s CVS Pharmacy is my go-to place for bread and milk when I am in Detroit.
It is conveniently located and also within walking distance from the COBO Center and the Fort Pontchartrain hotel, where I stay. They have a wide storefront and a spacious alley to navigate.
They always stock products, especially dairy and bread, that I always shop for. Besides, some great choice for jewellery and cosmetics makes it a great stop for shopping.
On my recent trip in June 2026, I noticed they are showing how everyday retail can drive sustainability ![]()
Their packing bags are made from recycled materials, reducing the demand for virgin plastic and paper.
What makes their initiative even stronger is the closed-loop approach, wherein customers are encouraged to return or recycle each bag at the store, ensuring that the cycle of reuse continues.
This commitment not only minimizes waste but also fosters a culture of responsibility, reminding shoppers that sustainability is a shared effort between businesses and communities.

Meanwhile, here’s a wonderful unofficial ID Card made for me by the amazing local guide @Shubhamsharma7979
This is so beautifully designed and printed in bright colors on a shiny PVC card.
I decided not to publish it as a separate post to avoid any confusion over the ID card for a local guide.
Once again, this is a gift
and nothing official about it ![]()
Thank you, dear Shubham, for this memorable gift
