Hello Local Guides
This year we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Local Guides Program.
A program that for 10 years has been seeing us as Volunteers in creating and improving the digital representation of our planet. A planet that we take care of. So what could be better than taking care of it “on the field” too?
Earth day is the perfect day for this, and the name that has been chosen for this year represents us perfectly: Our Power, Our Planet™
Call to Action for a Worldwide Meet-up
We invite all Local Guides to organize, in April, a LocalGuidesCleanTheWorld meet-up.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Local Guides program, we show how our role as Volunteers can be important in taking care of our planet.
Let’s do it through global actions: Meet-ups hosted around the planet using the #LocalGuidesCleanTheWorld logo
We will focus our meet-ups on cleaning, education and actions about the environment:
- Clean-ups of beaches, rivers, public parks, school gardens, etc.
- Trees plantation
- Updating Google Maps information about waste collection/management
- Education activities within schools or local communities
Final Virtual Meet-up
On April 26th we will all meet in a Virtual Meet-up, where we will be able to virtually explore all the meet-ups related to World Earth Day.
During the final virtual meet-up, all those who have hosted a meet-up will have a short space to tell how their meet-ups went. In this way, we will exchange experiences among ourselves and with other members of the community. All other meet-up participants will be able to follow the event in live streaming
