Welcome to a top 3 beautiful and amazing place for adventure in Cambodia and the Kingdom of Wonder. I am happy to share with all of you some of my memory pictures and experiences for @Cambodia Community Spotlight.
1. Aural Mountain: The mountain is a very popular place for trekking, and Phnom Aural is the highest peak in Cambodia at Kampong Speu Province, located in the eastern part of the Cardamom Mountains. The mountain stands at 1,813 meters tall. A 7.2-mile trail with an elevation gain of 380 feet allows trekking to the peak, typically taking around 5.5 to 6 hours to complete. There are also 3-day fully serviced treks available to explore the area.
The mountain and surrounding region are part of the Phnom Aural Wildlife Sanctuary, a protected area established to conserve the rich biodiversity, including unique bird species like the Cambodian laughingthrush. It is a popular, though challenging, destination for trekkers and nature enthusiasts, offering dense virgin rainforest and opportunities for birdwatching and camping.
I traveled to Aural Mountain in 2021 with a group of my friends to celebrate their traveling achievement. We spent 2 nights and 3 days exploring and enjoying the beautiful nature on the top of the mountain. I love the nature of the mountain that allows me to express my feelings and enjoy the moment of my adventure during those times; it is a very perfect top place to recommend you try to challenge yourself.
2. Phnom Knorng Psar: Phnom Knong Psar is a hiking destination located in Koh Kong province, Cambodia, near the Kampong Spue border. It has an elevation of 1177 meters and is covered by the Central Cardamom Mountains. A trek to the mountain takes approximately 4 hours, and it’s recommended to carry less than 10 kilograms of gear, including food, water, and a tent.
The first experience that I have travelling to Phnom Knorng Psar is during the year of 2020 with a group of adventure friends. That is a special memory to explore with nature during the rainy season, and we are enjoying the green grass, wildflowers, and fresh air.
3. Phnom Knorng Preah: This is a natural tourist destination located in the Mong Rrey community, Pramoay commune, Veal Veng district, Pursat province. It offers scenic views and natural landscapes. We can reach the mountain, which is approximately 8 kilometers from Phnom 1500, by foot, a journey that takes about 5 to 6 hours, and the mountain stands at 1200 meters above sea level and provides a 360-degree panoramic view.
I traveled to Phnom Knorng Preach with my groups of friends, and especially that was the first time that I brought my cats Panda and Lucky to the highest mountain, and we spent 2 nights and 3 days on the mountain. In the middle of the night, temperatures are very cool; that is the reason that Panda can’t sleep. He is walking around the tent and sometimes bites my hair and face, whereas Lucky slept in my sleeping bag under both of my legs.
