I have visited quite a few museums in India and would like to share my insights via this forum.
1. National Museum - Delhi
2. National museum of modern art
3. National Science Museum - Delhi
4. Museums inside Red Fort - Delhi
5. Museum of Natural history - this place was one of my favourite however in 2016 the building caught fire and all archives have been destroyed it was very dis heartening for me 
6. Museum of Goa - this was a disappointment as the name suggests however it is not a museum of Goa it’s a personal art gallery and entry fee also too high, we visited thinking we will know about history and culture of Goa, but it is not 
7. Sanchi Archaeological Museum - Madhay Pradesh
8. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya - Mumbai
9. Nehru Science Center - Mumbai
For me museum is a place to know the history and culture and significant information which helps you build your knowledge and learn new things.
I often visit museum with my kids so that they also learn about the heritage of that place.

Wow that’s amazing to see you have visited so many museums. Yes I remember the incident at National Museum of Natural History, it was a tragedy. I have visited the museum back in 2007 and was indeed one of my favourites. Thank you for sharing @Vandana_shines Keep contributing

Museum #2 on Delhi Metro Yellow Line - MUSEO CAMERA
For a museum visit, include:
- Name and Google Maps link.
- Timings.
- Which days is it closed?
- Entry Ticket.
- How to Reach: Bus, Metro, etc.
- Any food joint or cafe nearby?
- Accessibility features, ramp, railing, audio aids, etc.

I fully agree with you…we too had a very similar shock… after paying a very high entry fee…we couldn’t stay back for even an hour…
