Hello LG Friends!
Challenge:
Have you visited any museums? Kindly (briefly) share your experience and two photos in the comments! Please try to add the Google Maps Link also - Thanks.
(Tips: at the end of this post)
On May 18, we celebrate International Museum Day – a special occasion to recognise the value of museums as centres of culture, heritage and learning. For us as Local Guides, it’s more than just a day — it’s an opportunity to explore local treasures, share hidden gems, and spark curiosity among our communities.
Museums Matter a lot to our Local Guides:
Museums tell the stories of our cities, people, and planet. Whether it’s a grand national museum or a small local gallery, each one plays a role in preserving identity and inspiring discovery. As Local Guides, we often help others uncover these spaces by adding reviews, photos, and videos to Google Maps…right?
International Museum Day, organised by the International Council of Museums (since 1977), brings global attention to the way museums contribute to cultural understanding and social development. The theme in 2025 is “Museums for Education and Research” — a perfect match for our mission as Local Guides to share knowledge and insights.
As Local Guides, we’re uniquely positioned to help others explore and appreciate these cultural treasures - what is your opinion?
I am showcasing the Indian Prime Minister’s Museum (Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya) through a couple of photos - hope you will enjoy.
If you have a little extra time, then:
- Visit a Museum, write your experience as a Review on Google Maps with helpful Photos and Videos.
- Create a ‘Google Maps List’ like “Top History Museums in Your City” or “Kid-Friendly Museums Near Me.” Lists help travellers and locals alike. (tag me if you need any help)
- If you are a fan of museums, write a separate post about your ‘Favourite Museum’ and tag me, please.
Photography Tips:
Museum Photography can be challenging in many cases, especially when the object is within a transparent case; the foremost issues are the ‘self-reflection and light glare’ (of the photographer/external light) - try changing the camera angle or moving a bit, and you can mostly avoid the above problems. Also, keeping the camera close to the case can help.
Hope you all will enjoy…
Thanks in advance.
