How do you upload videos?

This feature is not avaible in South africa mobile app on 4x devices running different androids.

Even trying to send a 5 sec horizontal clip via Gallery is void.

Maps have updated 4x since the video posting was released but still nothing.

Watss up?

Level 6

I can't find where to click to add a video. Following the directions in the email...

Greetings,

I received an e-mail from Google about Local Guides can now add videos. I tried to add an 11 second from my Android phone to avail. Anyone have any luck with this yet?

Cheers, Wild Bill

hi @WildBillW

i already try with make video in gmaps apps, but it cannot.

so i try to make the video first with original camera apps, around 10s and upload/add it manually to Gmaps.

it works.

This is awesome @YanniY. I love it. Just keepin the video short. I hope to employ this feature soon.

It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

How can I upload 360 video of a particular place on Google map?

Hi, since some weeks we can upload videos to Google Maps points, but I still haven't tried to upload a 360 video.

What part of "does not work"

Is being lost in translation here?

I appreciate the generic help your posting.

I have tried it all....does not work.

Even standing upside diwn does not work.

Have hold in shutter button for 30 seconds and nothing.

I have same issue. Long press for shutter button make just photo and no option to select video from folder.:(

Well the headline practically says it all.
I have a 360° camera and just want to know if I should take this into consideration when looking for new stuff to document.

@YanniY I will do try my best!

I already have a video on my phone from last week. How can I add it to a location? @TokyoJoe

Level 7

Since this month is about accessibility,  would it be good to do videos that show entrances, parking, for those with mobility issues? @TokyoJoe

Just updated my Lenovo TAB4 plus with latest Google Maps. I chose a location and then Add photo. From Google photos i chosed a video file. Unfortunately Maps crashed. The video was taken with my iphone and uploaded to google photo. 10sec long.

UPDATE

It now works just fine. @HelloSamsonR  wrote a tip to upload through Google photos, now the movie uploads (even movie from iPhone) great addition and thank you @HelloSamsonR

I just tried to upload a pre-recorded video but I'm getting an error. Is this option not functional yet, and, what video formats are accepted?
Level 6

This feature active only in Android..... @YolandaL

Feature not active on Iphone @Andreasson360

Great news, but I'm afraid that this way of posting videos is not the best to show quality content. I'd rather prefer to be able to link a youtube well-edited video that I made of a place, than a shaky not edited one.

Level 10

Hi @TokyoJoe I have uploaded 4 Videos since this new feature came and I can only find just 2 of the videos uploaded. Why are the remaining 2 videos not showing in my contributions tab and it has been weeks now. In addition as well, Why can't our videos have a separate contributions tab for videos in our Google Maps for Android other than still being were our pictures are ?

Level 8

@YanniY I like it.good job

Will this include 360° videos?

Level 8

Do they have an anticipated release for this feature on iPhone?

Level 8

Fantastic..

I agree with Webrunner, this is not the best way. Plus that, I have many all ready made video's I'd like to share but they're on my computer and not on my phone.
Level 8

I've made 62 videos now on maps. As we know it's a 10 sec instant video or max 30secs

-- What I would like to know, how the google team hab=ve not offered any advice on making post edited videos, especially using photos.google.com app Create a Movie -- this is such a brilliant way to make a polished video out of 15 clips to fit the 30 secs and with music.. ?

-- And will the 30 secs be lifted to maybe a minute as SO MUCH more can be explained especially a product review or a tour ?

Thanks ..

You are welcome @Andreasson360 !!!

do you know @YolandaL how to transfer videos from computer to your phone? i use a USB cable, or a OTG cable - it's very easy..

I like it.

I have been producing 360-degree photos of places I've visited with my drone. These are taken from a height of 120m and can be viewed on phones and computers but best via Facebook where they can be viewed as if you were there, on smartphones they even rotate with the direction of your phone. It would be good to be able to add these as active photos too.

When will uploading from an iPhone be available?

amazing for video . im try this my android

@MikeDownes@YolandaL or just use Google Photos for backing up your folders and then access from mobile device
