Yearly Google Sponsored Meet-up

We Can Have a Google Sponsored Meet-up yearly hosted by the Googlers in our communities. This can be done prior before the Summit always held at San Francisco or after, whatever way works for Google, am sure either before or after,  the community will appreciate them. 

This will help spur and also motivate Local Guides who might not be selected to attend the Summit Google do organize in San Fransisco. We can have the Googlers visit our communities and hold sponsored meetup  aimed at Knowledge sharing of the Google Maps and the Local Guides program. I know perfectly well this will be beneficial to the community and also to  the Googlers. Local Guides could get to meet some of the amazing Googlers who moderate this community in person. Googlers too will also have the opportunity to Travel, explore and visit different cities and also meet some of the Local Guides whom they interact with virtually as well. Am sure this won't cost anything.

e.g I Have seen some Googlers go on an adventure to look for Biryani in thier community, how about them trying out some new adventure like tasting the Nigerian Jollof ? Have a meet-up and roll out the invites to Local Guides

In like manner this can be done as well, having Photowalks, map edit walks, food crawl, accessibility meetups etc. All sponsored, you can also make great videos from such meet-ups as well to keep the social space more of in a Local Guides activities.

This is a great idea. But Google would need a lot of Googlers to cover the world in a year.

Hi @Atsukot hope we still get to see some pop up connect live events in some cities apart from the main event recently concluded in San Francisco. It would definitely be some glad moments local guides in those cities who couldn't make it to connect live in San Francisco would definitely cherish 🙂

Hello @HelloSamsonR, YES! Our team is currently working on the next pop-up event. We can't share the details (which city, date, etc) until the official annoucement of the event. The team keep on planning the pop-up events, and it may happen in your city someday 🙂

It is great to know the team is working on pop up events for select cities @Atsukot  A big well done to the team for this brilliant efforts they are currently putting into place. We look forward to that day, of course I would be glad to be there if invited 🙂

Hi @HelloSamsonR.I will be closing this idea as it is not possible at this time as hosting events in every city, even if hosted by an individual Googler, is not something the team can do. As you saw in 2018, the team hosted Connect Live 2019 in the Bay Area for an annual event and some additional cities received Connect Live <CITY NAME> events, too. Thank you!

Connect live main event should be held in every continent rather than only in US. This would provide diverse platform to more local guides.

Thank you for sharing your idea, @suresh1930. We are going to need some further information to make sure we are on the same page. Could you give more specific examples of cities or countries that you would like to see Connect live take place?
