Numeralize individual bias for evaluation of each Local Guide and make it public

Star ratings are subjective and biased. Some guides wants to add 5 stars. Also, some guides want to give a lot of criticism. By digitizing these different ratios and making them public, we inform viewers of the basic personality of each Local Guide. Based on this number, the viewer can trust the sentences of the guide.

=Advantage=

• In the early stage, viewers and contributor can be used as indicators of each other's values.
• The contributor will contemplate how to add stars.
• It can prevent heavy use of 5 star and 1 star.
• Visualize whether a malicious guide is.

=Negative=

• The favor of the contributors who do not want to criticize may be judged to be of low value.
• Personality should not be quantified.
• First of all, we should abolish the five star rating.

Statistically it is said that there is much room for subjectivity to enter in the 5 star rating. That is also a merit. The value and weight of me and your 5 star are different. It is a proposal of an attempt to make it as objective as possible by finding the standard deviation of 5 stars of an individual.

Why not make written review required for one and five star reviews explaining why it was graded harshly or excellent.  This puts more accountability to reviewer

I very much agree. I find that 1 to 5 stars is a vague and inefficient way to express a personal evaluation and opinion on anything. If evaluations were 1-10 on various areas, it could help the reviewer better express his personal experience. However even so as people all differ as all personal experience and opinion does. I think the key here is to give personal testimony and the community can contribute more testimony. One rating alone is not sufficient, however several reviews can be more than sufficient.

This is indeed a problem. Many places rely on proper reviews based on each relevant category rather than one thing going great or wrong. This is similar to my post of Categorized Reviews. People consume and visit for different reasons and expectations. It's time we make the reviews more relevant to the users and places alike.

Originally the statistical study pointed out the ambiguity of the 5 stars. Still, collecting statistics is easy, so it's just being adopted. As you say, Google can teach us how to use it and Local Guide wear appropriate habits.

I would like to extend this idea @YasumiKikuchi there are algorithms that measure intent and happiness from text (Google happen to have some in the Machine Learning suite) - these could be used to measure the contributions of the LG and would help to make other LG understand or perhaps even adjust their ratings. Generally grumpy people should probably have their stars pushed up and spaced out happy folk perhaps have theirs pushed down :).
