More tools to verify fake reviews

I had an incident recently which is unfortunately not unusual.  A guy was delivering coffee to a company.  He was extremely rude and when he left he asked his friends to post fake negative reviews for the company he had just delivered to.  These are pretty obvious, all at the same time and date, all clearly from people that have never even been to the company they gave 1 star reviews to.  The company has video footage to prove that what he alleges happens never happened but has no way to submit it.  Automated algorithms can only go so far.  Net result is that the negative reviews are all still there making the star rating of the company lower unfairly.

This sounds more like a job for Google My Business @AlexanderChalkidis where you can report fake reviews and take action against Local Guides and indeed provide evidence.

Google My business has nowhere to provide detailed evidence.

There is a way of Contacting GMB Support to submit evidence which I will not outline here as then non business people may start doing it @AlexanderChalkidis look more deeply into the Google My Business site. You can definitely do it.

Yes, after waaaay too many efforts and forms and emails I think (hope) i have finally found the right people and they will finally take a proper look at the incident.

It shouldnt be so hard but I understand that spam control is a big problem.

I'm glad you found it @AlexanderChalkidis spam can certainly be an issue and I think that is well recognised. Please remember though that while spam can be problematic both from Local Guides and fake entries put in via GMB there are thousands more good people doing good things in Maps. The spammers are annoying but they're very much in the minority.

Sadly no.  Even though I am 100 percent sure it is wrong and I am a local guide and I witnessed it myself, the response from Google was finally "sorry, we will let those fake comments there".

Pretty ridiculous.
