It will be really good to atleast provide a local guide T-shirt (Even purchase is OK) for higher levels (May be from 😎 as perk with their present profile logo with the level printed on the same!!
I think it would be valuable to distribute official Google local guide shirts and hats to reviewers who reach certain levels.
for example:
-Level 5 reviewers receive a free hat that states ‘Google Local Guide’ with an official badge as well.
-Level 6 reviewers receive a free t-shirt or polo that states ‘Google Local Guide’ (also with an official badge)
The benefits for Google are that local guides will wear these around to different businesses and places they visit, encouraging more to join. The benefit for the guides is that they are recognized for their contributions and also carry a level of status into establishments that they will review. The experience matters more when people know it will be shared, that’s just the truth!!
Thank you for sharing, we really appreciate your idea!

hello, today I would like to share with you a problem I had. While I was trying to share a place I went, I was taking a photo and the owner came and asked why I took it. I said I am a google map writer and showed my profile and he gave permission, but I did not want to share it again because I was angry. I wish google gave a tshirt to some higher level guides. If it offers the opportunity to buy something like this and support social projects with the income obtained from it. For example, a t-shirt for 7th level guides and using this money for forestation or animal protection.
Imho, not every business owner are aware of Local Guides program. And since that the store is theirs, so it's okay for them to not allowing visitors to take pictures etc. of their store.
It's okay. No need to get angry. Just don't review their store. Chill..
Everyone can make a fake t-shirt with a Google Logo, or a fake ID, @Gezendunyali , while your profile in the official App of Google Maps is really demonstrating that you are a Local Guide, and this is also really environmental friendly (no shipping cost, no energy used).
However the golden rule is always to "ask" before to take photos, especially if we are in a new place. Most of the time a friendly approach end in the owner showing me what photos he would love to have in Google Maps but, if the owner says no .. well, no means no.
