Contribution points

When adding reviews we get bonus points for High quality reviews. 

Could we do something similar with photos? 

When a photo is designated as "Featured" could we receive bonus points or even a separate category.

Would be awesome to know at a glance how many featured photos we have. And encourage high quality photo compositions.

I would like to remind you that as per the How do I use the Idea Exchange? article, you should include only one unique feature request in each idea post. As you have several different ideas, please create an individual post on the Idea Exchange for each of them.

I just recommend you before you submit an idea to search the community. Someone else may have already submitted the same one, so you can show your support by voting for that idea.

It could be accompanied by a counter telling us how many of our photos are currently featured.

Caption: A screenshot of a cross-section of a few of my featured photos on the maps. @Shola4sureAs suggested by one of the moderators, I'll try posting my idea and see what response it gets.

I have given my vote to Morten's post about notification of featured photos on the maps. I also like @NareshDarji idea on featured list. I have an idea as regards featured photos as well, don't know what you think. After all it takes to click a nice photo,following the rules and regulations stipulated by Google and it gets featured. We should have something to show for it. It's not all about points and badges we know, just an acknowledgement that we got it right.

My idea: We do have 10 extra points for a detailed review and even a counter and indicator of detailed reviews on our profiles.why can't we have some few extra points for a featured photo as well?

What do you think guides? Please feel free to give your votes or not. Kindly give a comment as well as necessary.

Thanks for sharing your idea.

I think we get plenty of rewards on feature photos in the currency called Photo views. And we get notifications. 

But I do agree that many Local Guides could benefit a lot from paying more attention to making more helpful photos. And the clicks selected as cover photos is a great inspiration to learn from. So if offering some extra points will lead to better photos on Google Maps I'm all for it. So your idea got my vote.
