one of few videos that worth to watch from first second till the end , i read before about the type of maps ,
and one of ships engineers explain for me how the size are not similar from the google type map to actual map , that time it was a shock for me :)))

@JeslynL Because the earth is sphere. So we can't put it in the flat map. We can put it like thisBut it cause the problem with the land at the edge of the map. So they use map projections to solve it. There are many projections but the common one is "Mercator projection" that we use on the google map.

Very interesting video @YK1001. @JeslynL thanks for posting this. I am a big fan of Vox and their reporter Johnny Harris. He does very much “thought-provoking” and cultural / societal reporting that makes you think and ponder after watching one of his videos.
