Re: New Hampshire The Granite State #StateChallenge

Here are some more fun facts:

We have one of the few mail boats still in operation today.  It's called the M/S Mount Washington.  There's 2 other boats in the fleet: the Sophie C. and the Doris E.

All the weather reports we get come from the top of Mount Washington (the mountain, not the aforementioned boat)

We still have a one-room school house in operation for school field trips.  It's called "The Little Red School House" and the kids go through "a day in the life" of a school kid back in the 1600's (I think).

We still have a functioning drive-in theater on Weirs Beach.

We also have a fully operational theater from back in the Vaudeville days: The Palace Theater

When the circus came to town, they would train at "Bensen's Wild Animal Farm" here in Hudson.  While it's not used as a training grounds anymore, it's now an open public park.  You can even go inside the animal cages and visit "The Little Old Lady Who Lived In The Shoe".

We are known for having "The Old Man In The Mountain", a rock formation that showed the profile of a man on Cannon Mountain.  It collapsed on May 3rd, 2003.

We have a train that goes up the side of Mount Washington, called The Cog Railway, that you can ride to the top of the mountain with.  It's the first cog in the world to climb up the side of a mountain.

Manchester is known as "The Queen City" and Nashua is known as "The Gate City" (I was brought up in Nashua).

Before it was "Fratello's Italian Grille" and "Villa Banca", "Bellissimo" (new Italian restaurant) used to be a bank.  The vaults are still there.

When it's election season, we are the "First In The Nation" to vote.
