Unlimited Google Drive Storage for Local Guides

I request Google to offer unlimited Google Drive / Photos storage instead of Google play movies vouchers. To be specific in India very few people use the service of Google Play Movies. We would rather prefer unlimited storage which will help us in having more photos and specially videos which takes significant storage of the device. Hence I request the local guide community friends to discuss this issue. Thank you and keep exploring.

@NeelTheWanderer We all want that.. only thing is that, apparently there could be a total of 50 million Local Guides (active and non-active), and there is probably no real way for Google to provide that kind of storage to every Local Guide permanently. 

In the mean time, for all things photos and videos (if you don't mind storing it at max of 16 MP for photos and 1080p FullHD for videos), you can always upload the media through Google photos app, instead of directly to Drive. It's unlimited storage for photos at 16MP and videos at 1080p max, forever. You need to turn on High Quality storage in Google Photos for that.

And in the other mean time, if your drive is filling up with photos/videos that you have uploaded through other services like Blogger, Maps, etc etc, you can use this method to reclaim all the storage.

Thank you @StephenAbraham for your suggestion. But I usually prefer to click photos/videos directly from Google Maps instaed of uploading it from photos. 

We always have the option to use the unlimited storage at 16mp and 1080p resolution. But if you observe the photos we have uploaded on any platforms 2 or 3 years back which were looking great then, now looks outdated. All Phones in the near future will be commonly having full HD or might vbe 4K displays. Then the photos/videos with this resolution might look outdated and people will not prefer it.

Google should offer the same only to active users by putting a condition to upload certain numbers of photos or videos per month so that the one who really deserves the same will get it.

I don't know if Google is currently offering the same to Local Guides at any level as I am relatively new to this community.

@NeelTheWanderer yes, many of us do that.. so, we can follow this instructions below to free up all your storage when we upload through Google Maps..try it and let us know how it works out.. (this is to reclaim storage taken by photo/videos when we upload through other services of Google such as Maps, Blogger, etc etc) 🙂
