What does the Local Guides program mean to me?

A year ago I was so excited because I received an invitation from the Local Guides program to apply to attend Connect Live 2019 and now a lot of things have changed. I made a post about 3 Top Burgers in Bogota. At that time, I still ate meat. (Now I’m pescetarian, but in the future the idea is probably to become totally vegan.) And how can I forget talking about a magical place in Colombia, Tayrona Park?

Now we are living through the terrible COVID-19 pandemic where we can’t travel or do other outdoor activities because it is really dangerous, and sadly, many have died around the world. I hope this nightmare ends soon. The only thing that we can recommend at this moment is stay at home. (That’s what I’ve done.)

This year I received the Local Guides program’s invitation to apply again to attend Connect Live 2020, and I am here once again. There are a lot of people who apply to this amazing event; I can’t imagine how it would feel to be chosen to attend it.

The Local Guides program for me is the opportunity to help people to save time. Time is the most important thing and It doesn’t have to be wasted because of anything. Thanks to the Local Guides program people can learn the best things to do based on local recommendations depending on what they’re looking for. It’s really an honor to be part of this great program. I like to help people and this is an awesome way to do it. I’ve helped a lot of people through the program and it’s gratifying.

It would really be great to be chosen to attend this magnificent event.

Hi @gamt89 ,

You may be new on Connect or writing to share a post for your Connect Live application. If you’re applying to Connect Live be sure to share a link to a new Connect post responding to this year’s application prompts. You can find everything you need to know about writing a post for Connect Live 2020 by taking a look at the guidelines. You can also check How to write a great application post for Connect Live 2020 and Your guide to creating lists on Google Maps.

P.S.: Keep in mind that one of the requirements is to share your post on the Local Stories board. I’ve moved your post there.
