Hello Fellow LGs,
Writing reviews for the places we visit is more than just sharing feedback; for me, it is a deeply satisfying experience. Every time I sit down to write a review, it feels like I am reliving the visit all over again.
It gives me an opportunity to reflect on how much I actually noticed and understood about that place; its atmosphere, the service, accessibility, facilities, sustainability efforts, and those little details that made my experience unique.
What makes it even more rewarding is knowing that these reviews can help someone else.
Someone, somewhere, planning a visit to the same place might read my review and decide whether to visit. My words might help them understand what to expect, how to plan their visit, what facilities are available, and what they should carry along to make their experience smoother and more enjoyable.
That is why, whenever I write a review, I try to focus on practical details that can genuinely help a visitor. Things like:
- Accessibility

- Sustainability and recycling options

- LGBTQ+ friendliness

- Women-owned businesses

- Availability of waste bins

- Restrooms

- Drinking water

- Parking

- Pet-friendliness

- Available payment modes

- Whether the place is kids-friendly

These may look like small details, but they can make a big difference to someone’s experience.
Over time, I have also learned that the best reviews are those grounded in personal experience. Not general or philosophical statements about a business, but authentic and detailed accounts of what we actually saw, experienced and felt.
Those are what I call Quality and Impactful Reviews.
In my Voice of Owner series, starting with Voice of Owner 1, I have shared some of the key principles I follow while writing such reviews. My last post in this series was Voice of Owner 6.
One small change I have personally started making these days is regarding photos.
With AI becoming increasingly involved in content moderation, I have noticed that sometimes a review may get hidden when a photo attached to that review gets hidden. To minimize this possibility, I now mostly prefer not to attach photos directly to my reviews.
Instead, I post the photos separately for the respective POI. This way, the review and the photographs can stand independently.
And then comes the part that makes this entire exercise even more meaningful.
The Voice of Owners.
Quality and Impactful Reviews often reach the business owners, and sometimes they respond by acknowledging the review or even thanking me for highlighting areas that need improvement.
For me, these responses are more than just replies.
They are a confirmation that business owners do listen to the Voice of Customers and, in many cases, are willing to work on improvements.
That is when you truly feel that your words have made a difference.
In this post, I have included another set of examples from 13 different businesses where I received responses from the owners. Some of them even thanked me specifically for pointing out areas where improvements could be made. I have shared three such amazing responses of the respective owners in the selected period (between 01-May-2025 to 31-December-2025) for Which this post is meant for.
Moments like these reaffirm why I continue to write reviews with care, honesty and sincerity.
Because at the end of the day, a genuine review is not just about giving stars.
It is about sharing an experience, helping the next visitor, and sometimes even encouraging a business to become better.
And that, for me, is the real meaning of a Quality and Impactful Review. ![]()
