Hello Fellow LGs,
Writing reviews for the places we visit is more than just sharing feedback, it’s a deeply satisfying experience. Every time I experience to write one, it feels like reliving the visit all over again. It helps me reflect on how much I truly understood about that place, its atmosphere, the service, the accessibility, and the little details that made my experience unique.
What’s even more rewarding is knowing that these reviews help others. Someone, somewhere, planning their visit to a place might read what I wrote and decide whether to visit. My words might prepare them for what to expect, how to plan their visit, what facilities are available, and what they should carry along to make their experience smoother and more enjoyable.
That’s why, whenever I write a review, I try to focus on practical details, things like accessibility
, sustainability efforts (such as recycling options
or eco-friendly practices
), whether the place is LGBTQ+ friendly
, has waste bins
, restrooms
, drinking water
, parking
, pet-friendly
, payment modes
, or is kids-friendly
. These details, though small, make a big difference for visitors.
I have also learned that the best reviews are the ones grounded in personal experience, not general or philosophical statements about a business, but authentic, detailed accounts that truly reflect what we saw and felt. Those are what I call Quality and Impactful Reviews.
In my Voice of Owner series in Voice of Owner 1, I have shared some of the key principles I follow while writing such reviews. My last post on this series was Voice of Owner 5.
P.S.: Now a days ever since AI has started working abruptly, mostly I wish not to include photos in my review to minimize the chances of getting it hidden. Due to photos attached in the review, most of the time review gets hidden if the respective photo gets hidden. And, I do post photos separately for the specific POI.
And the best part? Such Quality and Impactful reviews often reach the business owners and result into the Voice of Owners. Which confirms that business owners do respect the Voice of Customers and ready to work on improvements (if any). That’s when you truly feel that your words have made a difference.
In this post, I have included another set of examples from ten different businesses where I received responses from the owners, some even thanking me for highlighting areas for improvement. Moments like these reaffirm why I continue to write reviews with care and honesty, because every genuine review has the power to create positive change.
