I actually did not get any notifications. I used to get an email, and I understand the saved items getting washed out with the transition, but nothing even telling me that @AdamGT created a post.

@JustJake click on Adam’s profile and select “Follow”. But you won’t get an email, instead you need check the bell on the upper right of the browser window (if you use the desktop):

Thank you. What’s odd is that I have Adam on my follow list. He’s the only one not showing up. There must be an alert option somewhere.
Better still, now that leaderboard is a tag, I’ve set up tracking at the topic level.

Im Top 100 System auf Maps Daten tippen
In ihre Maps Daten stehen die aktuellen Daten in der Anzeige.
Nur die Video Daten sind nicht aktuell.
In der VIP Lounge, Statistikübersicht,
auf alle Felder die erscheinen mit OK tippen.
Dann steht diese Statistik aktualisiert zur Verfügung und zeigt auch die Anzahl der versteckten Beiträge auf Google Maps an.

I see some discussion here about notification. I’d love to jump in and help sort this out but just flat to the board. I thought I’d get the October Photo Views Leaderboards out today but no luck. This is the current non HTML version status. It’s a real mess

I’m not sure what you mean here, but I guess I should do some more reading and find out. In the old Connect, another LG gave me a search string to use, and I always got emails for posts with any of the keywords on that list.

Thanks Wilfried. I set up Watching, because that’s what you indicated, but I’m not clear what’s the difference between that and Tracking. It seems this is a learning curve for all of us.

Not sure neither, what is best for what, Tony. From the description, I understand with “Watching” we get a notification for each single response, whereas “tracking” tells us there were 5 responses and we need to scroll through to find them.

Yes it seems that migration of the historical Leaderboards from the old to the new Connect wasn’t very successful @PrasadVR. As I’ve mentioned before, plain text is sufficient for most posts on Connect and as such converting them from the old to the new Connect is quite simple and straightforward. However, the Leaderboards involve hundreds and hundreds of links and they make extensive use of different formatting features done by HTML and features not available on the new Connect, hence from what we’ve all seen, the migration of the Leaderboards to the new Connect hasn’t been very successful.

I just want to briefly jump in here and say that the leaderboard tag is found on the Connections & celebrations category so at this stage at least, I’m not sure how using this strategy for tracking of the Leaderboards will work for Leaderboards posted in other categories such as the Google Maps contribution stories category (See for example the September 2024 Top 100 Google Maps Local Guides Photos Leaderboards post!

Seems, the notification for Top 100 Google Maps Local Guides Photos (October, 2024) only worked based on following @AdamGT. I did not see one based on leaderboard (yet?) .
