So then, what’s the solution to ensure that everyone gets notified? We all need to know when Leaderboards are published.
Solution: We all need to try and learn
As I said, following Adam did work for me, but I am also convinced, he will tag the next leaderboards with leaderboard and we can subscribe to it.
I’m not checking, but I think mine would’ve been October 30th as well. I understood @AdamGT to say upload our Stars and await further directions about the other data. But while re-checking my Star entries I accidentally clicked the Maps Data button, and there you have it.
Yes Wilfred, I guess you’re correct. But for those of us who never did any “following” before, we should’ve been told that Following is the new normal.
Thank you @PrasadVR
I Agree, Tony! But don’t forget, we are not paying for any kind of service - neither directly, nor in the form of advertising.
This forum is mend to be an exchange of experiences of the community and the moderators are all volunteers. Furthermore the T100 system is completely based on volunteer work. Seems to me, they all have much more trouble and work to do, than us.
So, we should just try to use it, as is.
Not sure about that. It merely is a workaround, which works fine for me right now, but we all should be patient and continue learning how to use the system in the best we can.
There’s been a lot of talk about notification about the LB posts. Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe that @PrasadVR received an email, @Trail_blazer used Connect’s Notification feed, @WilfriedB got a notification in the browser (not sure what that means, perhaps ConnectsNotification inbox) but it wasn’t via email, @TerryPG didn’t get a notification, @tony_b didn’t get the usual notification email, @Kumaarsantosh didn’t get either notification on Connect nor the email, @JustJake didn’t get any notification. Jake went on to say that he “set up tracking at the topic level”, and so on it went. All too confusing. Have no fear, I’ve given this some thought and after we get over these initial uncertainties with the new Connect, I will develop and introduce a specific T100 notification system.
On another note, I notice that some are tagging me in comments simply by name (Adam) and not formerly tagging me using Connect’s tagging utility (@AdamGT). While I’m not clear on this but I think it’s best to formerly tag the person you are writing to at least initially in your comments and then if you need to make a second reference in your comment it would be fine to just use their name.
I say this because while coming back to read some comments on this topic, that is, the October Leaderboard post, I noticed that I missed some comments that perhaps I should have replied. I appreciate that in my case you may want to spare me from bombardment, but it happens anyway so I think it’s best to formerly tag.
Adam I now get emails and notifications in the browser.
If I or anyone replies directly to a post(or whatever it’s called now) that you wrote, there is no need to use the @ symbol. if we are mentioning you in a conversation, we should of course use the @ symbol . Lets see if this works here Adam.
That’s an interesting note @AdamGT. I was testing the Reply option in the new Connect and assuming that if I made a direct Reply to a post the author got notified even if I didn’t use the old @ mention system. I haven’t been able to figure out if I was right or wrong.
Nice test Terry. I hope @AdamGT sees your response. I also hope you see mine, as I did a “Reply” to you instead of an @ mention.
Received notification that there was a new post in this conversation Tony
@TerryPG that may well be the intended way it works but I have to say this is the first time I’ve seen your message and the one before it
From my point of view the verdict is still out on this one @tony_b but thanks for your message which I believe brought me here.
