To me, the Local Guides program has always been an open-source repository where I can dive and populate Google Maps with newly discovered places and find innumerable spots to travel. Google Maps intelligent algorithms can almost always identify where I am and asks questions regarding the spot such as if there is a wheelchair entrance, is there free parking, etc. This way Google is building a global system of combined informatory data of all the locations in the world to provide a highly assessable location service.
Conclusively, the Local Guides program is a super inter-connected net of the whole planet Earth where I serve as a node to provide my contribution - which actually helps me back as I can have all the information about my travel along with the pictures and videos attached.
