Dear fellow Local Guides and my dear friends,
on the 7th of February we had an incredible Virtual meet-up about TRAC 2026.
I was lucky enough to have received many feedback and suggestions and now I’m working to fix it.
Please have a look at this two images:
REGISTRATION
During the registration process is important to use your Connect Username (usually is like @MarcoDavoli) and your Google Maps ID (Google Maps)
If you forget the “Country” selection your name will not be in the chart and your work will be counted as "others
If you forget to flag “TRAC2026” the system doesn’t know that you run for the TRAC 2026 so you are not considered as a participant and your work will be counted as “others”
The system automatically update the work every night at 02:00 CET
THANK YOU for your support and a big thanks to all friends that sent me suggestions, bug report, ideas.
I’m doing my best to do better and better.
Dear fellow Local Guides and my dear friends,
I’m writing with a huge smile hoping my excitement will be contagious!
Our “Captain”, @SholaIB, has just shared the news we’ve all been waiting for:
Hold on! Before you go any further, enjoy the announcement video and feel the TRAC 2026 vibes!
TRAC stands for Thousands Roads Adding Campaign: a global event dedicated to adding (or improving) missing roads on Google Maps.
It’s a real, practical, and surprisingly inspiring activity. It’s not only about photos, reviews, or edits (which are still amazing), but about something that truly changes how people move and live. A correct road on Maps can mean:
- a faster and safer route for daily drivers
- an ambulance arriving sooner
- a tourist not getting lost
- a worker saving time
- a community becoming more accessible
In simple words: our contributions become tangible, measurable, and genuinely useful.
The “Roaders” community keeps growing
Over the years, the community of Roaders (that’s how we proudly call ourselves) has grown a lot. And last year we reached an unbelievable milestone: more than 150,000 new roads added to Google Maps.
Behind that number there is time, energy, and consistency… but also fun, friendship, and team spirit.
We have a discussion group where we share techniques, help each other, and exchange tips and ideas. During the campaign, we also organize virtual meetings, plus fun moments like quizzes and friendly challenges because growing together is even better.
The wait is over!
TRAC CAMPAIGN 2026
March 1st, 2026 – May 31st, 2026
We would truly love to have you with us in this new edition. Your participation will make a difference! This is not just a nice sentence: every road you add will be used by someone, somewhere in the world.
And for those who enjoy levels and rankings:
Each road added is worth 15 points, an amazing opportunity to grow fast and see immediate results.
If you have any questions, feel free to write to me. I’ll be happy to help you get started. And trust me: after your first roads… you won’t want to stop. ![]()
