The best meetings of all time occurred when the small town’s city council got together and resolved to construct something beneficial for the entire community. A clock tower - what better gift could we give to ourselves?

Nobody had the luxury of a wristwatch back then.
Thus, everyone would benefit from a clock tower that is positioned strategically and easily.

When I visited Nashik to conduct the first meetup and get the local guides started with meetups, I discovered this engineering marvel - a modestly designed structure that stands majestically next to a massive cricket ground.

I am sure it has witnessed many exciting Cricket matches when the 5-day version called test matches were immensely popular.

People would come in the morning and check the clock tower to know the start time of the game, break intervals, and closing time, the whole day for an entire week of sporting extravaganza.

The Clock Tower must have felt so proud of being a help to thousands on a day and millions over the week.

The clocktower is within walking distance from the Nashik Bus Stand.

Take an auto from the railway station if you use that.

One more clock tower is within our city at the National War Memorial Southern Command, Pune. Whenever you wish to capture it, let me know; I will come there for sure. And there is one more nearby that goes unnoticed many a time. :grinning:

Ask you rightly mentioned, architecturally the tower looks very simple - but elegant! No doubt!! The brick finish looks very ethnic.

Hope great hits (I mean sixers) by “BradMEN” will not spoil it :grinning: - time tested… Right?

Yes, we have 7 clock towers in Pune, two of which I visited so far

  1. Chaturshringi Police Station

  2. Spicer College near Bremen Circle, Aundh.

The one you mention in the Military Museum can be seen even from the roadside.

and we can have a nice photo from the signal as well, but I want to go inside and take more photos one day.

We can also cover some more clock towers and monuments in that area,

The other clock tower is within walking distance in Lal Deval.

Also, we can see some lesser-known places in between that you might be knowing :blush:

Actually @Rohan10 has offered the same to me in Mumbai and I will be there soon.
