Share Your June 2026 Road Mapper Achievement Here!

It’s the beginning of the new month and Google has sent out our stats for Road Mapper! Here’s the post for all of you intrepid Road Mappers to share your achievements from last month.

I mapped out 88 km in June. My approval percentage is significantly affected by the delays in approvals/reviews. Right now, I’m seeing a 6-day delay in having my contributions reviewed. This means that almost 30 of my Challenges had not even been looked at by the end of the month!

As usual, I rotated through all of the challenge areas. I was able to make contributions in all 10 countries. India happened to be where I did the most work in June.

I got through 151 challenges since May. My goal of hitting 10,000 this year is within reach, especially with TORM right around the corner!!!

I’ve been contributing extensively to Road Mapper over the past month. It’s been quite difficult to get approval to add roads to Google Maps lately. So I’ve decided to add roads using Road Mapper for a while.

I had to complete over 5,000 challenges to add 2,024 kilometers of roads.

Observations
Approvals are delayed these days.
I realised that your percentage of approvals is 87% as well. Mine is 88% which is far reduced. I use to have 92-95%.

June was a productive month for me in Road Mapper. I’m happy to share that I contributed 744 km of missing roads, and 84% of those contributions were accepted into Google Maps.

This month, I had the chance to map roads in several countries, including DR Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Myanmar, and Nigeria. It’s a great feeling to know that these small contributions can help people navigate more easily.

Every accepted road motivates me to keep contributing. Looking forward to mapping even more in the coming months!

Every road added is more than just a line on a map—it’s a path that helps someone reach their destination.

This June, I received my monthly Google Maps Road Mapper contribution report, and it reminded me that even small efforts can create a meaningful impact.

My June Impact

During the month of June, I contributed 366 km of road mapping to Google Maps.

What makes me even happier is that 81% of the roads I contributed were accepted, which means the information is now helping millions of Google Maps users navigate more accurately.

One of the highlights of this month was contributing missing roads across 9 different countries, including:

• India
• Kenya
• Nigeria
• Myanmar
• DR Congo
• And several others.

Among all these contributions, South Africa became my biggest area of impact, where I added 63 km of missing roads.

My Overall Journey

Since joining the Google Maps Road Mapper program, I have contributed:

• 1,250 km of roads added
• 1,345 mapping challenges completed

Looking back at these numbers, I don’t just see kilometers or statistics—I see thousands of people who may now find their destinations more easily, avoid confusion, or discover places that were previously difficult to reach.

Why Road Mapping Matters

Many people use Google Maps every day without realizing how much community contribution goes into keeping maps accurate.

When volunteers identify missing roads and improve map data, they help:

• Improve navigation accuracy
• Support emergency services
• Help delivery partners reach customers
• Make travel easier for local communities
• Assist businesses in becoming more accessible

Every accepted road contributes to a better digital map for everyone.

More Than a Hobby

For me, road mapping is more than just completing challenges.

It is an opportunity to contribute to something used by billions of people every day. Knowing that my work can make travel easier—even for someone on the other side of the world—is incredibly rewarding.

Whether it’s a small village road in India or a newly mapped route in South Africa, every contribution matters.

Looking Ahead

June has been a motivating month, but this is only one step in a much longer journey.

I look forward to contributing even more roads, improving map accuracy, and continuing to support communities across the globe through Google Maps.

Because sometimes, the smallest edits create the biggest impact.

Hi @JustJake, Congratulations and thank you for starting the June month’s thread. My contribution in June was very limited because I am in a different city and busy with personal commitments.
