During the visit to Detroit last year we were getting weary of super huge things like a huge COBO Center with its huge hallways, huge skyscrapers everywhere, huge hotels, and huge ships sailing on the huge River Detroit. So we headed downtown to the Park Square and bumped into the Parc Hotel that had a classy ambiance with a fantastic exterior sitting arrangement especially with the fountain making a soothing sound giving a very upbeat vibe of the place.
Parc was accommodating in that the service staff greeted us politely with a smile when we decided to settle there for the dinner and enjoyed people-watching with a view of the fountain.
Our waiters were attentive, kind, very friendly, and provided great recommendations. The food was was spot on and they even showed some tricks with fire on the food that my friend @yagokd reminds is aptly called Flambe. I didn’t know a house salad could taste so different and delicious. Additionally, the salmon fish and scallops were cooked to perfection. The chicken wings were the best chicken wings I’ve ever had! Amazing flavor and great people.
They have a sand bar for the kids to play in just a couple feet over and it’s like a beachfront in the heart of downtown Detroit. I don’t live in the area so the likelihood I’ll make it back is slim, but I would recommend it to anyone.
What was not to like at the Parc? A bunch of bottles of wine and the company of friends who traveled from every corner of the world to chat and crack jokes leading to a burst of laughter. All-in-all it was a wonderful way to end the week-long stay in Detroit.
Accessibility Features
Nothing special to mention here since accessibility features are a norm at most public places in the US, the Parc hotel has necessary features for the differently-abled.
Ramp access.
A wheelchair-accessible Entrance.
A wheelchair-accessible Parking.
Wheelchair-accessible Washroom/Toilet.
