Thanks @EmekaUlor for you answer and question.

The price is different from 10 euro to 50 euro .It depend on size and shape.

Small valenki as a slippers -10euro

Big valenki for deep snow and cold and frosty winter-40 or 50 euro

What shape do you like best?)

If I have such opportunity and we meet somewhere for example— you get valenki as a gift)

Cheers,

Inga

Hello @helga19

These are wonderful!! Are these just ornaments or do people actually wear these? If these are worn most likely only indoors because are these waterproof too?

Hello @CharithaJB

Good questions!

Sure,people wear these!

But only in dry frosfy and snowy weather.Valenki are not waterproof. Most of all children like to wear valenki in winter.

Sure,valenki -is

Russian national souvenir and many people buy them as a gift for foreigners.

Hi @helga19,

I was really happy to see the Matryoshka dolls (матрёшка) and I actually found one at home which looks different from yours, but I bought it a long time ago, when there was a campaign about women who are not able to have kids and would like to have. I was really glad I can help out for that campaign by buying the doll.

Here is a picture of it:

Hello dear @KatyaL

Your Matryoshka (Матрёшка) is very nice and colorful. It is really different from another.

It was very nice campaign to help women who want to have kids.

Matryoshka is among the well-known symbols of Russia and favourite souvenir for tourists.

Mayroushka is about 100 years old.

“Matryoshka”-is a simbol of family,this words have a root from Mom,Mother.

Seven small dolls simbolize FAMILY,Russian word -“Ceмья”-Семь-(seven)+Я (I).

I have post about Matryoska-about history this doll.

I wrote it last summer.

Best wishes,

Inga

Hi @helga19 ,

Thanks for your compliments and also for sharing the additional information about the Matryoshka dolls.

It is famous in Bulgaria as well.

I was happy to learn that the 7 dolls symbolise family and the name of the doll comes from Мать (Mom). I’ve studied Russian language in high school and I can still understand it.

I’ve just checked your previous post about the Russian souvenirs, that you’ve mentioned you shared during the summer. The photos are lovely! Now I’m in a process of gathering 5 more dolls, so that we have 7 at home
