Reviews not showing after editing

Hello, not sure if this is the right place. I left a few reviews on March 17 and 3 of them were published. Then I had to edit 2 of them (no url, just added a couple of words indicating the titles of the roles I mentioned). Then my edits are not being posted and it’s been about 3 days. I wrote one more review for a completely different business after that too and that’s also not showing.

I understood some reviews can take time to be reviewed and published but this long?
Any idea?

I really want to leave this review for this unprofessional company who screwed us over and now we need to spend $10k to fix the issue for us…

The reviews are shown in my profile. No error message or notice from Google. I can only check using Incognito version map and see they’re not shown publicly…

Thanks!

Hello @Yeonsil welcome to Local Guides Connect community!
Yes, this is the right place to ask such kind of questions.
All posts are checked by an AI filter - not only for obeying all rules, but also for suspected SPAM or fake information.
If photos or videos are attached to a review and only one of them is rejected, the entire review is made private, i.e. hidden to the public. So whenever you find out review is not published, the first question should be: are there any photos or videos attached?
While text-only reviews and photos are usually accepted (or rejected) within minutes, it can take more than a day to verify a video.
In the case of attached photos, as a first step, remove the photos and watch if text-only is accepted.
If the text-only review stays hidden, I recommend this series of articles How to Get In and Out of Trouble: The Main post by @MortenCopenhagen with many tips what could be done and must be avoided.
Hope, this helps for now, but don’t hesitate to ask more questions.

Thank you so much!

There was no photo or video, but it was lengthy, text only.

I found it weird as it was initially approved and published, but then it wouldn’t show after having it edited with two words added.

I should’ve left it :frowning:
Not sure what to do now.. I deleted it and reposted it but no luck :frowning:

This is absolutely wrong and could be interpreted as spamming resulting in getting banned.
I was successful in some cases by continuously removing half of the text until it is accepted and then adding again phrase by phrase and later word by word.
But never post again exactly the same!

I had a review, which was published after removing a hyphen, another case immediately after correcting a typo (the unknown word was probably interpreted as gibberish)

Oh no, that’s good to know.
Just in case the reposting was interpreted as a spam and if it flagged or banned my account, is there any way to find out?

So frustrating…
Should I delete all of them and wait like a week or so to try posting again?

Hi @ErmesT
From last couple of months my reviews or photos or sometimes both not going public. Tried to change my wording or delete photos but all in vain. Appeal couple of times to sort it out but every time they clear my account not prob.
Can you please look into my account and sort it out. Really appreciate. Thanks

@Wintask
As I said in my previous reply

Read here to know what you have to do to to start a new topic: How do I write a topic on Connect?

The easier way to do that is to go to your Connect profile Settings and to flag Display my Google Maps profile link publicly

Thank you

Hope you’ll make things easy for me. As always appreciate your effort. Thanks

Hello @Yeonsil and @Wintask,
the link you both provided is correct and works.
On the long term it is more convenient to show it in your Connect profile. Here is described, how to do so: How to show your Maps profile link on Connect

I don’t think, you get banned for re-posting only once or twice, instead the filter knows your history and it depends on how many times you did not obey the rules.
If you strongly believe being banned, you can submit a form to have your account checked I don’t have the link handy, (but possibly @ErmesT can tell you quickly I just found the link: Account investigation for contributions not visible on Google Maps).
But I don’t think it is necessary now, I had a look at your Maps profile using the link you provided and saw 6 out of your 19 reviews are hidden (private):

However, your one and only photo is against the rules: “Wow Yummy” is a nice idea, but Google doesn’t like text embedded with photos. Not sure, it plays a role, since it went public anyway.
Regarding the reviews, you can show us a screenshot together with a link to the listing and possible somebody can give you some hints.

No. Remember the filter doesn’t forget! As far as we know, there are no human operators. Rather try to edit, as I suggested before.
