##Celebrating Love and Inclusion: Delhi Queer Pride Meetup 
Location: Barakhamba Road to Jantar Mantar, New Delhi

This past weekend was historic. I had the privilege of organizing a meetup to attend the Delhi Queer Pride, joining a sea of more than 10,000 queer individuals and allies. As Local Guides, our mission is often about mapping places, but this meetup was about mapping visibility and inclusion.
The Route: A Walk for Change
We started our journey at the Barakhamba Road Metro Station. The energy was electric from the moment we stepped off the train. From there, the massive crowd marched toward Jantar Mantar, turning the heart of Delhi into a vibrant rainbow.
Walking alongside my fellow Local Guides—Siddharth, Shreya, and Shalini—we documented not just the event, but the accessibility of the route and the atmosphere of the local area during such a high-traffic event.
Highlights of the Meetup:
- The Scale: Seeing 10,000+ people come together peacefully to celebrate identity was breathtaking.
- Community Spirit: We met so many people who rely on Maps to find “safe spaces” and inclusive businesses in the city.
- Local Guide Perspective: We focused on capturing photos that showed the vibrancy of the march while noting how the city’s infrastructure handled such a massive, moving gathering.

- The route was completely Wheelchair accessible and there were 4 e-Rickshaw available for the people with disabilities to join the walk

Why This Matters for Local Guides
Being a Local Guide isn’t just about reviews; it’s about representing the people who live in and use these spaces. Supporting the Queer Pride march allows us to better understand how we can contribute to making Google Maps a more inclusive tool for everyone, regardless of who they love or how they identify.
