Meetups have become a weekly event in Pune for the past year and more, consistently.
With so many local guides meeting routinely, exploring the historic places or enjoying the street food, hosting tea parties, participating in photo walks, many local guides from nearby cities are also attracted to the meetups in Pune.
This time, @shubhu1 traveled 400 km from Jalgaon to participate in her first meetup ever. So she was a special guest.
Shubhangi Patil is a well-known local guide having contributed the maximum number of logo and banner designs for India, the various states and cities and occasions like festivals, challenges, and so on.
Her creativity is applauded far and wide all over India and abroad.
The venue of the meetup in Pune was the SaragBaug Temple, located in the middle of a beautiful pond that has many water lilies, lotus blooming, with swans swimming merrily, fish, turtles, and many such creatures, adding charm to the beauty of the pond.
Shubhangi was the first to reach the venue, and later @ShubhamWaman, @MerlinThomas, and @NithinThomas also joined the meetup.
We explored the garden around the temple while local guides from all over India joined us for a virtual trip and Darshan of the temple.
There was also a museum of Ganesh Idols within the temple premises.
Local guides visited there as well.
After that, local guides settled down for Tea Talks called Chai pe Charcha.
They exchanged tips and tricks about using Google Maps and new and updated features on Google Maps and Connect.
Here’s a post by Merlin Thomas about the episode.

Attendees at the meetup were also presented with a bunch of stickers and cards with the local guides theme. Besides me, the contributors are Ajit Thite and @TravellerG
The meetup concluded with plans for the next meetup, which will be held in Pune on 29th March 2025 and hosted by Shubhangi.
