Announcement !!!
This is a fasten your seat belt announcement. We have been crusing at an altitude of 41,000 feet above the clouds and we are preparing for land. Cabin crew please prepare for landing!!! Most of us are familiar with those words on the plane aren’t we?
This is our 5th month of TRAC campaign 2023 . We started on the 23rd of March and plan to run for 6 months all things being equal. We have been on for about 5 months now. Needless to say we have achieved our first 3,000 approved new roads on Google maps .
We did set another Target of 10k and we did that Target very easily. We wanted to really stretch and challenge ourselves so we set the final and ultimate target of 50k approved roads on Google maps. If you have been following us well enough,we did write a post when we Halfway-gone-25k-approved-roads-On Google maps.
Now we are delighted to tell you that we are preparing for landing!!! Our current official figure is now 41,000+ new roads added to Google maps.We have now returned back to a single digit number target as when we began about 5 months ago. We will be closing up very very soon. The interactions and experiences with other fellow local guides has been great. We have also made some very interesting discoveries on how the AI works etc. There has been a number of post written giving clues about adding roads. If you are not part of it then that’s it you are not part of it !!! There are a number of things that might interest you to look out for very soon as regards TRAC campaign in general here on connect.
- The number of countries the TRAC team has contributed in so far.
- The top ten highest contributors in TRAC campaign so far
- We also plan to put up a photo of most members of TRAC .
- A meet-up to officially mark the end of TRAC as a campaign in September
- Of course our 50k achievement post is coming soon

Now we should say thank you
to @MarcoDavoli our statistician and one of the top ten leading local guides on TRAC. @Lukas_1 our top and leading man on TRAC. @NareshDarji @LovePathak28 @ErmesT
@OssianLore @HsRawal @Rakshi2 @jayasimha78 @TravellerG
All these men are taking a leading role and dedicating time to add edit and correct new roads on Google maps. One more fact about them is that they have added at least 1,000 new roads each to Google maps since we started the campaign.
Please Note: This is not a competition it’s a simple campaign. It is aimed at creating awareness on drawing roads. It’s also aimed at improving the maps worldwide. There are no gift or medals at the end of the campaign.it’s a voluntary activity like all local guides activities.
Disclaimer This campaign or post about adding roads, is unofficial and it’s my personal initiative to help improve the maps. Note that any information collected will not be used for any other official purpose outside connect forum.
Look forward to active participation and interactions over this. All questions are highly welcome and we are open to improving and editing this campaign for good.
Please note that we have reached our target and the campaign is closed for 2023. (12th Sept 2023)
Happy guiding
Happy mapping
Cheers
