I joined the Local Guides Connect community in July 2022 at the ‘Let’s Get Together’ meetup at Science City in Ahmedabad. Since then, I have hit some amazing milestones! My photo of the Jagdish Ji temple has reached 7 million views, and I loved co-hosting the Airport Accessibility meetup.
It’s truly wonderful to look back and see how far this journey has come. Being part of the Local Guides community has always been about more than just contributing to a map; it’s about the people and our common purpose.
A turning point for me was attending the 50th Mega Meetup in Patan, Gujarat by Connect Moderator @NareshDarji . That experience made it clear to me why we work so hard: to create a world that’s simpler and better informed for everyone.
From those early days of mapping to the fun conversations we had at meet-ups, every contribution has added something to this story. I’m so grateful for the friendships I’ve made, the insights I’ve shared in the forums, and the simple joy of discovering a hidden gem thanks to a fellow guide’s recommendation.
As we approach a decade of Connect, I want to thank everyone who has helped make this platform such a great place to learn and grow.
