Hello, Local Guides!
I am really excited to share our grand meet-up on 10th July 2022, at Science City, Ahmedabad.
It’s been a long time since we’ve all met: of course, though we were staying in touch, most of us haven’t met in person since the pandemic began -I was looking for an opportunity to host a big get-together where we can all gather and have some fun.
To my surprise, a few days ago I received a call from @TravellerG Sir informing me that he would be visiting Gujarat and would like to meet the local guides. I too found this a golden opportunity to meet all. I promptly scheduled a meet-up at Science City, Ahmedabad, and announced it to all the Local Guides groups of India, and I received a great response from our communities.
Over 25 local guides registered for the meet-up, including TG sir and Latha Ma’am from Bangalore (Karnataka), @AnshukMitra, Nomad_vikram, @VikramSingh_Valera from Rajasthan, @FalguniP, @Pratik_89 and @sagarkulkarni from Maharashtra, Shruti_U from Uttarakhand, and LG’s @Tejal, @TEJASJANI, @kinjalchhaya, @Megh_Thekdi, @sunilsolanki6579, @RoshanPatel, @rindanikrutarth from various regions in Gujarat. I and my team had already planned everything for the meet-up. We had also planned a lunch and surprise treat for LGs from various states and our Chief Guest TravellerG Sir.

Suddenly, five days before the meet-up, TravellerG Sir’s call came and he expressed his heartfelt desire to gift a T-Shirt with the “India Local Guides” logo to the Local Guides attending the meet-up. I immediately started checking the vendors for t-shirt printing and got the t-shirts printed as per their instructions.
Our original meeting time was in the afternoon, but due to the enormous interest, we preponed it to 10 a.m. When I left home at 8.30 a.m., Anshuk’s call came that he has already reached the railway station - so I picked him up from the station.

We both arrived approximately an hour early at our destination and waited for LGsr LGs. Everyone had come by 11 a.m, but TG Sir was a bit late, so he remarked, “Start the meet-up, I’ll join you soon.”
We started our meet-up by introducing ourselves to each other and giving out badges that our team and Falguni had made to kick off the meet-up. Everyone liked the badges and the T-shirts that TG Sir gave them as gifts very much. After that, we all enjoyed some Gujarati cuisine.

After lunch, we all got together and arrived at Science City and started our photo walk meet-ups. Since everyone had already booked their tickets, we got straight into Science City and first, we went to visit the Aquatic Gallery. Here we took some group photos.

Along with this, get together TG Sir has planned for a photography meet-up. We all had also joined Tejal’s accessibility walk and after that, we had a virtual meet-up for our global community arranged by AnshukMitra. We were joined by many international and Indian local guides.

After spending about 2 hours at the Aquatic Gallery we all went to visit the Robotics Gallery. Here we got together to see the various robots as well as the other attractions at Science City.
After visiting the Robotics Gallery, we sat down together and had some discussions about the Local Guide program. After that, our chief guest TG Sir and other local guides who came to the meet-up were recognized by the Gujarat team by giving a small gift as a souvenir of this meet-up.
We missed Falguni, Raju, and ImNikunj91 in this meet-up. But thank you so much @FalguniP , for that Foodie Badge, we really loved it…
