Mexico City Parks for runners

I love tu run! I started about 3 years ago. I live in Mexico City and as any big city in the world, is not always easy to find a good place to run and enjoy the vegetation, being around with people, but most of all be safe!

That is why I want to share some great places where anyone interested in running, walking, get your dogs for a walk or even just get out with your kids and family to be in natural, fun and free public spaces.

One of my favourite spots is the Ajusco Park. This is situated at the south of Mexico City. It has public bathrooms, parking spaces and and even a decent payground for kids. For runners is a most, it has a 1 km track and a lot of peolple go there to exercise.

Now, if you want more adventure, why not go all the way to the top! It is a tough climb, but is a huge place where you can run. There are pavement roads, but if you want to wander around and run in the vegetation, it is a great place where you can feel safe and sorrounded by great trees and a natural habitat

If you want something easier and at the center of Mexico City, Chapultepec park is one of the best places to be! It is huge and sorrounded with history (Chapultepec Castle), art (museums), lakes, zoo, etc. There are 3 sections, but one of my favourites is the 1st section wich is also an easy accesible place for tourists and visitors.

Inside the park, you can just wander and roun around Chapultepec and make your own trails. I can easily run 5 to 10 km, and not be bored at all since there are so many things to see. Also, many Sundays you can find different 5 or 10 K races throughout the year.

There are many other places and tracks which I recommend. One of my favourite spots is Las Aguilas park. I go there very often since is near my home. I love that people take their pets and kids and there are always people doing exercise. It has a 950 meter loop but if you want to go off the track you can easily make 1.4 km. I highly recommend it for people who loves to run with dogs!

Other places for runners: el Sope, Viveros de Coyoacan, Chapultepec 2nd section and Xochimilco!

Hope this is useful for people looking to have a good run and fun!
