Readme - Reading the Movers & Shakers leaderboards (December, 2025)
Briefly, this is what you need to know about the leaderboards in this post. For more details about the Top 100 leaderboards see the leaderboard documentation and the Leaderboard System’s online context-sensitive help information.
1. Simply stated, the term Movers & Shakers in this post is used to describe the Local Guides that have achieved the most in terms of overall Local Guide points, photo views and *star views* over the past month. Therefore, the leaderboards in this post indicate how active each participating Local Guide has been over the past month as well as the performance of their photos and videos, and their respective *stars* (i.e. photo and video having the most views) in terms of views over the same period.
To explain the different metrics used in the Movers & Shakers leaderboards we will use the following simple example. Sarah, a Level 8 Local Guide, uses the T100 System and updates her data on the 28th of each month. For simplicity of explanation, she updates her data every 30 days! The following table summarizes her key data as at 28 April and 28 May::

(a) The Delta Points is the value of the points earned by a Local Guide over the past month. In this way, Sarah’s current Delta Points is 4,000 [ 24,000 - 20,000 ]*.
(b) The % Delta Points is the value of the points earned by a Local Guide over the past month expressed as a percentage. Therefore, Sarah’s current % Delta Points is 20% [ (4,000/20,000)*100 ].
(c) The Delta Views is the absolute value of the total photo views gained by a Local Guide over the past month. Thus, Sarah’s Delta Views for that month is 1.8m [ 16.8m - 15m ]*.
(d) The % Delta Views is the value of the total views gained by a Local Guide over the past month expressed as a percentage. Therefore, Sarah’s current % Delta Views is 12% [ (1.8m/15m)*100 ].
(e) The Delta Views/Photo is the average photo views gained per photo by a Local Guide in the past month and for comparative purposes, this gives a simple measure of the overall quality of a Local Guide’s photos in terms of views gained per photo; the higher the Delta Views/Photo the higher the quality of the photos! Therefore, Sarah has a current Delta Views/Photo of 2,000 [ 1.8m/900 ].
(f) The Delta Views/Day is the average photo views gained per day by a Local Guide in the past month and for comparative purposes, this is another metric that gives a simple measure of the overall quality of a Local Guide’s photos in terms of views gained per day; the higher the Delta Views/Day the higher the quality of the photos! Therefore, Sarah has a current Delta Views/Day of 60,000 [ 1.8m/30 ].
(g) The Delta Star Views is similar to the Delta Views however in this case, it represents the views gained over the past month by a Local Guide’s most viewed photo, or star photo. Therefore, Sarah’s Delta Star Views is 30,000 [ 4.06m - 4.03m ]*
(h) The Delta Star Views/Day is simply the average Delta Star Views per day over the past month. Therefore, Sarah’s star photo has a Delta Star Views/Day of 1,000 [ 30,000 / 30 ]. This metric gives a simple up-to-date measure of the quality of our star photo in terms of views gained per day*.
To avoid unfair distortions in the delta calculations, to be included in the Movers & Shakers leaderboards, you must have updated your contributions data in both the last two consecutive months.
New Leaderboard participants will not be included in this month’s Movers and Shakers leaderboards simply because they don’t have a prior month’s history.
To provide a level playing field, Local Guides that should but don’t provide/update their video impact data will not be included in photo views movers & shakers leaderboards. In this case, Local Guides that make it onto the media views leaderboards will be shown with a [1] superscript following Connect username. To avoid being excluded from photo views leaderboards, Local Guides must use the Leaderboard System to update their video impact value.
In summary, the Movers & Shakers leaderboards only include those Local Guides who regularly update and have especially done so over the last couple of months. It’s all about creating that level playing field and comparing apples with apples.
Where shown, [ ] around leaderboard sequence numbers indicate that this is the Local Guide is a new participated on the Top 100 Local Guides leaderboards.
An asterisk (*) shown after a Connect Username indicates that that Local Guide is a Connect Moderator.
Double asterisks (**) shown after a Connect Username indicates that that Local Guide is a Googler.
Hovering over a Local Guide’s username will display the integration number that integrates that Local Guide’s details on the Leaderboards System and Connect; the umbilical chord if you will between the two disparate systems.
Selecting a Connect username will take you to either that Local Guide’s Connect Profile or to their Brick on the Wall of Fame. If a number shown in small gray circle is displayed following a username, that number indicates the number of times anyone has selected that username to visit the respective Local Guide’s Connect profile or Brick in the Wall.
The data for the leaderboards in this post was read at 0545 on Saturday, January 3, 2026 (UTC).
Local Guides included in the leaderboards must check their entries for any errors. If you should find any errors or omissions, please add the details in a comment on this post.
Note: Making comparisons using metrics such as delta points and delta views must be done carefully. In my view it is better to use points per day or views per day for comparative purposes and you will find these in the Core Vitals section of the T100 Leaderboards System!
Oh dear I see the same mistake I made last month with the points leader
Finally, here is the updated December Star Photo Views, Movers & Shakers board correctly showing @claude_richard as the sole survivor to make it here. Well done Claude and thank you for your patience and understanding while I worked through all this.

Star Photos Movers & Shakers Leaderboard
(December 2025)
Leaderboard #909
Hi @AdamGT,
I would like to start by saying a huge thank you for the incredible work you do for this community. The energy and passion you put into these posts always bring out such great emotions in all of us. I am truly honored to see my photo of the Trevi Fountain chosen as the cover for this month’s ‘Movers & Shakers’ post! It’s a wonderful surprise to see it featured alongside my ‘brick’ in the Wall of Fame.
The Trevi Fountain is much more than just a monument; it is the beating heart of Rome’s history. Standing at the junction of three roads (the ‘tre vie’ from which it gets its name), it is the terminal point of the ancient Aqua Virgo aqueduct, which has been supplying water to Rome for over 2,000 years (the same water that feeds the fountain today)!
Most people recognize this place thanks to the legendary film La Dolce Vita (1960). It has been 66 years since Anita Ekberg, as Sylvia, stepped into the water and called out to Marcello Mastroianni. That scene defined an entire era of Italian glamour and ‘sweet life.’
A few curious facts for my fellow Local Guides:
It’s not Neptune: The central figure is actually Oceanus. You can tell because he is pulled by seahorses (one calm, one agitated, representing the changing moods of the sea) led by Tritons.
The ‘Ace of Cups’: On the right side of the fountain, there is a large ornamental vase. Legend says the architect, Nicola Salvi, placed it there specifically to block the view of a local barber who kept criticizing his work!
The 2-Euro Entry: To protect this masterpiece during the Jubilee, a small symbolic contribution of 2 euros has recently been introduced for visitors wanting to access the lower steps near the water. It helps manage the crowds and keep the site beautiful for future generations.
On a personal note, I remember walking through this square during the pandemic. Seeing it completely empty and silent was a surreal, almost ghost-like experience. It felt as if the statues themselves were holding their breath. Seeing it now, full of life and chosen as a symbol for our ‘Movers & Shakers,’ feels like a beautiful sign of rebirth.
Thank you again, Adam, for celebrating our community through your work, and offering this spectacular stage to Rome and to all corners of our enchanting world.
The Leading Movers & Shakers board appears to have rows 3 - 7 copied from the November Board. Even the link on this one only points to October/September, as it did in November.
Otherwise…WooHoo! Thanks, @AdamGT, for the last Movers & Shakers of the year!! I cannot wait to see what the final tally is
Thank you, @AdamGT, for publishing one of the most important Leaderboards (Movers & Shakers for December 2025). I truly appreciate the incredible effort and time you put into these every month!
Thank you so much for sharing your post, “The Most Visited Fountain in the World.” Your photographs are stunning, and your commentary provides such a vivid perspective on why the Trevi Fountain remains a global icon.
There is a subtle truth in your words. Those of us who live surrounded by centuries of beauty every day often risk “habituation”—we might walk past masterpieces without fully feeling their weight. Paradoxically, a visitor with limited time often possesses a deeper sensitivity, seeing clearly what the local eye might take for granted.
Even after living in Milan, Venice, and Florence, and now spending over 30 years in Rome, I still strive to look at my city with the eyes of a passionate visitor. Rome is a unique living archive where history is layered: from its legendary roots involving Aeneas—the Trojan hero who fled Troy in flames after the defeat favored by Achilles, seeking a new home on our shores—to the Lupercale cave (discovered in 2007, where tradition says Romulus and Remus were nursed). This journey continues through the grandeur of the Colosseum, the Middle Ages, and the Renaissance, up to the Baroque perfection of the Trevi Fountain.
Every corner of our world—whether historical, natural, or cultural—has its own beauty to reveal. I believe that keeping our curiosity alive is what truly makes us feel alive.
Thank you again for your contribution and for reminding us to look at the world with fresh, appreciative eyes!
