Many things changed in 2020, but one thing has remained the same: the passion and dedication of the Local Guides community. Our team has been so inspired by the stories of Local Guides going above and beyond in the past year, especially during COVID-19. That’s why we want to take a moment to celebrate and thank the community by shining a light on some of its many stars. We are pleased to introduce our Guiding Stars, the Local Guides who went above and beyond to make a difference in 2020, on Google Maps and beyond.
While we wish we could honor each Local Guide, these 50 featured Guiding Stars reflect the stories that kept resurfacing during our review of tens of thousands of Local Guides from all aspects of our program. This includes their contributions on Google Maps, activity in the program on Connect and elsewhere, Connect Live 2020 applications, community nomination form submissions, involvement in their local communities, and more.
