Today, we are proud to introduce the Guiding Stars who went above and beyond in 2022. It’s a testament to our community’s dedication to making the world a better place for everyone.

Inspired by the many amazing stories and meaningful ways Local Guides contributed on the map and off this year, we created a brand-new sixth category: Sustainability Star. It honors the Local Guides who think nature-first and focus on highlighting places and activities that help preserve the environment.

In curating this year’s list of 54 Guiding Stars honorees, we reviewed thousands of Local Guides profiles. We considered everything from their contributions on Google Maps, activity on Connect, meet-up experience, involvement in their local communities, and more. Read on and get to know our 2022 Guiding Stars.

Guiding Stars are shining examples of the Local Guides community. By recognizing their contributions, we wish to thank everyone who is dedicated to making a difference on Google Maps.
