Initially, I thought it would be okay to update based on one’s email notifications. I believe that @Cecilita asked about this. However since the map profiles are updating 2 or 3 times a week, I no longer recommend the practice. Also, because it requires careful analysis to avoid counting approvals dating before 2024-03-23. Is this the issue you were thinking of?

To the best of my knowledge Guides are updating from their Maps profile.

There has been discussion about creating a program to scrape the data from the profiles, but no one has offered to build it.

I had two goals in creating the spreadsheet system. One was to ease @MarcoDavoli s’s work in manually gathering the data. The second was to provide closer to real-time stats for everyone to see.

It is unfortunate that more than 1/2 of the guides who signed up for TRAC are not using the tracker.

Marco’s figures will always be the official version.

TRAC ers have been very active from the numbers and I see the group surpassing our 100k target before half the set time.

Sorry for responding so late, @Rednewt74 .

It’s fine for me to have the official update from @MarcoDavoli .

I think the difference in numbers is (in my case) due a mistake made by me. As you know I filled the form later, and I added in the form the number of road I have when I filled it instead of the roads I had when the TRAC started.

Not a big issue in any case.

Thank you so much for confirming, @Rednewt74 , that the correct initial number is NOT the one related to March 23rd (first day of TRAC).

So it means that, if you submitted the form before March 23rd, @MarcoDavoli will pick March 23rd as initial number, while if you submitted it later your day zero will be the day of the submission.

Am I correct?

sorry for interrupting this discussion, but since you’re discussing TRAC campaign data, I’d like to clarify and specify how the data are collected and used. by me to create the “Running Charts”

Since last year, I’ve been assisting @SholaIB in creating graphs to visualize the campaign’s progress.

Since then, every week, manually, I’ve been collecting data from each individual user. This year, Shola wanted to lighten my manual workload by asking Alfred to create tables to be filled in weekly by individual TRAC Enthusiasts.

Knowing these dynamics all too well, I’ve continued to record data weekly (in reality, twice a week) and noted the campaign closure and the reopening on March 23rd.

The last week running charts data were downloaded on the morning of March 23rd, Italian time.

If anyone finds discrepancies in the data or requires different data… just ask.

Undoubtedly, Alfred’s work offers significant advantages, but its quality depends on each user remembering to fill it in.

Let me know if there’s anything I should change.

Perhaps it’s better and/or preferable to have a system like the “Top100LeaderBoard” where a list is published weekly/monthly?

What do you think?

It is a sunny day here in the eastern Alps too, and I’m really enjoying it.

Everything is fine, and you are indeed doing a great job, by collecting manually all the data every week.

I personally love the spreadsheet made by @Rednewt74 . Personally I never took note of my numbers, quite happy that someone (you) was voluntarily doing it for for everyone, but I think that updating the spreadsheet is something that we can easily do, giving you a bit more of free time. Keeping the data updated every week for six long months requires time and patience, and in this very busy stage of my life I value it very much.

Everything is fine, I was just a bit surprised by a small discrepancy in my starting value, but really it doesn’t make any difference, so don’t worry about that.

The only reason to ask is just that I wanted to better understand. It is most probably my fault, as @SholaIB said that everything was already clearly explained, so I think that, due to I lack of time, I didn’t read carefully all the preliminary posts.

Thank you @MarcoDavoli for your input.

@ErmesT on March 23, Marco recorded the road count for 58 Guides. Not realizing this, when I created my workbook I told Guides to enter what they thought their number was. Marco and Shola noticed some differences, so I went through the workbooks of the 22 Guides who are using them. I adjusted 11 starting numbers. For 10 of them rhe difference was < than 20.

Because of your stature in road mapping and the more significant difference I hesitated to change your number. From your post here I thought I thought I should go ahead and make the change. I apologize for the confusion.

To my knowledge only one guide has completed the form after the 23rd, so the starting numbers are as accurate as possible.

Sorry for the confusion. I really didn’t mean it to be confusing. Excuse me for the discrepancies in published data(Figures) on connect. Please hold me.responsible for that too. Hence,may I please ask that the publishing of the road counts(Data) be left to me as the host. I’ll work with @MarcoDavoli on publishing it on connect as we have always done.for past event. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation always.

I believe a good number of participants filled the form at some point after 23rd March. At least the former participants are more than 20(Active) then it couldn’t be just one person filled the form. We asked that all participants try fill the form so that we will be certain who wants to continue participating. A few of the old participants have opted to take a break which is reasonably enough.

As for the starting numbers,that is one of the reasons why I asked for a screenshot of your profile attached to the form to show the road count at the time you joined TRAC. That was quite useful for most participants during our previous events on TRAC. I believe that might still be a good thing to do. It seemed that at some points the screenshot requirment thing was abandoned for some other criteria

Finally I believe we are still on course. Just a little mathematics to be done and a few other things corrected and off we go. Thank you everyone for your interest and support

Hi, I wanted everyone to know that Marco and I have come up with a way to include all active guides in my workbook summary. There are now 44 guides listed. If you are not using one of the tracker workbooks, you can now see the summary which lists all 44 guides. It also shows the top 5 guides for each week, in terms of the number of roads added each week. There is a second page that gives weekly details. You can look at the summary here.

Guides who are using the tracking workbook can update as often as they have get a new road count update. The other guides road counts will be updated once a week.
