There isn’t a standard menu item or simple way on the new Connect to center text or images. For example, if I add the following image to a post it will be left justified as the default.
One way of centering is to add < div align=center> and a blank line before your screenshot. Note that I’ve shown this with a space immediately after the opening < but when using this method make sure that you do not add that space. Also, if you forget the blank line after entering < div align=center> your following text or image will not be displayed. You need to also note that Connect will center everything following the < div align=center> so if you want to end centering before the end of your post just add a blank line and < /div> (again with no space after the opening <).
I’m pleased that you found it useful @IgbinedionDan. I originally posted this in reply to @tony_b’s call for help this comment but then thought that it might also be useful to the general community.
@AdamGT thanks a lot for this hint!
I saw several posts on the new Connect showing images in a grid, i.e. two or pictures three side-by-side per line. Did you or somebody else figure out, how to do it?
Hi @WilfriedB
I think adding two or more images in a grid can be done quite simply by wrapping the images around [ grid] and [ /grid]. There’s also the collage option which you can read more about in the How to Create a Photo Collage in Connect post by @TusharSuradkar
Thanks for that question, Wilfried. I participated in some threads where LGs posted the contents of their end-of-year Google Maps performance email. My screenshots all inserted vertically in one long post, compared to others who displayed side by side.
Given that the preference for video on Maps is portrait (more vertical than horizontal) then yes this tip can be very useful for star video posts @JustJake.
Since you mention this Tony, I thought possibly the same happened to you as it did to me:
I did see the How to Create a Photo Collage in Connect post by TusharSuradkar months ago, but the term “Collage” distracted me and I forgot the details (or never read good enough ).
Now, after reading it again, I realized, that post does indeed describe how use the grid and not how to create a “collage”, which I understand as a single image combining multiple photos! @tony_b
I was looking for this information just a few days ago. Thank you, @AdamGT for the very helpful tip. It worked for me, and I’m sharing the link. Thank you @WilfriedB
