Is importing photos from my Google maps or Google photos to Local Guides Connect even possible? If so how? Or do they need to be posted manually? I’m still kind of a newbie.

Welcome back to connect. I see you have done an introduction in April 2022, so that is over a year ago. Good you are back again. To answer your question quickly,I don’t think you need to import all your photos from the maps to connect forum. It’s neither necessary nor practical.
You could take from them to use in a post on connect as necessary. We attach photos to post here on connect to make the article clearer to the mind and eyes. To attach a photo to a post, just click the square icon infront of the video camera icon on the top of the page.
That said would you mind having a quick look at A Welcome-to-Connect-Card. It is an animated post that quickly gives you a rundown of how connect works and what it is all about. You might find it necessary as a newbie ,please go through it.

Not sure about what you mean with “importing photos from my Google maps or Google photos to Local Guides Connect”. There are several ways to add a photo in Connect. You can
- Upload a photo from Your storage
- Upload a photo from a website
- Embed a photo that is publicly shared.
With the last procedure you can share in your posts also contents that are stored in your archive in Google Photos and also in Google Maps, like the one here below (directly from my contributions in Maps)
