How can I earn more local guides point? I only know reviews…

Thank you @user_not_found for being part of the Google Local Guides community and Local Guides Connect as well.

Yes you can earn more points not only through writing reviews but you can do the following.

  1. Add photos
  2. Rate places
  3. Add missing places
  4. Add missing information on places
  5. Add videos of places
  6. Report missing roads
  7. Answer questions on known places
  8. Check facts and verify facts
  9. Adding Lists and more

You will earn points and increase your level as well.

@katoibrah just gave you a very good answer. This help page explains more details and lets you know how many points each contribution is worth.

But please remember to focus on Quality of contributions before Quantity of points.

BTW, @user_not_found

It would be really helpful if you would change the heading of your initial question. Just edit your post again via the three-dot menu. A more explanatory title could be: “How do I earn points?” And hit Save changes. This will allow other local guides to find and make use of your answers.

Hello @user_not_found

Kudos for becoming a local guide on Google maps.

I find you are new there on Maps.

However, you must have been using that for quite long.

Then there would be automated suggestions to review the places you visited in the past. You can share your genuine experience there along with the photos you clicked.

After acquiring a good experience with reviews, you can migrate to the activities as mentioned by others.

Two more additional activities missing in that are

  1. Suggest corrections or edits in the name, address of category of any place of interest. Report fake or duplicate places.

  2. Tag photos of dishes from restaurants.

Nevertheless, it wouldn’t be worth jumping in all, at the beginning. Meanwhile, keep on participating in Connect and getting further tips.

You can Earn points by contributing content to Google Maps. Score a place with ratings, describe your experience with reviews, share photographs and videos, provide insights with answers, respond to questions about a place, update information with place edits, add missing places, or verify information by checking facts.

Since your post does not fit to this thread I am going to merge it to a such where various ways of contributing on Google Maps are discussed.

Also please be informed that Local Guides is a voluntary program and many people participate in it because they want to be able to help others via the Google Maps platform.

Sometimes, there are perks available and it will vary from time to time and from region to region. It depends on who the Google partners are. There may also be special and/or early access to Google feature

Hey dear @user_not_found . A warm welcome to Google Local guides Program. You can earn points by many ways.

  1. Reviews

  2. Adding photos of places, stores, nature, and many more.

  3. You can do edits.

  4. You can add new places.

  5. You can give answers for questions.

  6. You can create lists.

  7. You can change categories, working hours , etc.

By all these activities you can earn points. But be sure and honest for your work in Google maps.
