My posting was( just rejected ) flagged as inappropriate: the community feels it is offensive, abusive, to be hateful conduct or a violation of our community guidelines. The post was hidden asking me to revise in 10 minutes.
Had posted a photo of cake under food & drinks.
Please enlighten me how a photo of a cake is inappropriate and offensive as per guidelines.
How to avoid this.

Although I have not seen your post but if you have just posted a photo of a cake that will actually considered an off topic post.
On this Connect platform we usually post things those are connected with the Google Maps or Local Guides programme.
If you have posted a photo of a cake try to post some more pictures of the shop that you have clicked with the Google Maps activities you have done there with your experience in that place in a paragraph or more.
It’s always a good practice to add the Google Maps location link of the place in your post with information such as Accessibility, Parking, Price of the items, Entry Fees, etc of that shop or particular place.

Connect is a forum to stimulate, help and inspire Local Guides. So just posting a photo of some food and drink in the category called Google Maps Contribution Stories is not on topic. Instead of just presenting a place, a temple or a custom, we should instead share the story about one or more contributions we made on Google Maps. Please always include the direct Maps link to the relevant photo or review. Also a link to the place is helpful. Try to stimulate a discussion about your contributions. Was something difficult? What did you learn? Ask for others experiences making such contributions etc. That way your post can become interesting and relevant to all Local Guides world wide. And you can get relevant feedback and inspiration for better contributions in the future.
If you just wanted to share a photo of a cake you should post it on Maps. That way potential visitors to the restaurant can find it. Potential customers will never find it on Connect.

Earlier there were options to include the city etc., about the article in the posting.
Now in the new format it is selecting the country relating to the posting. That’s all. So I thought other details have been done away with. To be frank I have stopped posting regularly because of this flagging. Thought it would be better to lie low instead of getting reprimanded. Had a doubt that my selection of topic or title may be wrong.
As you said we can quote the price, place, accessibility and so on.

Connect is a community of local guides, where we share our experience. Of course we support our contents with photos, but we don’t share just a photo, because the content will be completely unrelated to our experience (off topic) if we don’t add a text related to our experience.

I see you’ve already received some helpful responses @RavindranK. It often puzzles me when I see some of the posts or discussions here. I also see some menbers counting their Connect posts just like many LGs count our Google Maps photos and points.
My discovery of Connect was through my activivities on Google Maps and my designation as a Local Guide, therefore anything that doesn’t relate to Google Maps activity seems out of place to me.
I don’t know if others found the site via a completely unrelated experience, but I see it as a site to discuss mapping issues. I create a post if I have an issue, otherwise I join discussions that cover the same issues that I have.
