Durga Puja Challenge is part of Durga Puja 2025 that comes under the Bharat initiative, with a mission to show the culture, tradition, and unity in diversity of India. This is the second Map Mentors Challenge. As Navratri has started today, everyone is filled with the festive mood, the lights and colours of this vibrant festival.
This further increases the excitement for the 2025 Durga Puja celebration. Along with this excitement, we should also perform our responsibilities as a local guide, so for this, I’m introducing this challenge.
Steps to follow:
Find any local Durga Puja pandal(s) in your area or nearby where you live.
If it’s a small or new pandal, it might not be added to Google Maps. So add the pandal to Google Maps with pictures, videos, or reviews.
Write a Connect post about the pandal, with information such as accessibility, street food nearby, or any other information you think is relevant.
This challenge is focused on the small puja pandals, although you can write a post about any pandal, whether it’s big or small, but it should be near your home. Don’t forget to tag me in your post.
Last date for submission: 07 October 2025
Rewards for this challenge will be announced later.
Thank you so much @Shaunak ,
It’s a great Challenge for us as Bengali. This type of Challenge must come before the Durga Puja. Obviously, I will participate and post as I can. Keep rising and guide me. Thank you.
I have a doubt it will be a temporary add on google map ? @Shaunak bcz all Durga Pandal stays only for 10 days. How we can mention the dates. Start & End?
Hi @YatraWithSurya yes the pandals are for temporary but the clubs or organisation who host the puja pandals, made the pandals at the same place every year so once it’s been added to Google Maps it will be useful for future as well. Almost all big and medium pandals in West Bengal especially in Kolkata are already added to Google Maps. Regarding the dates it’s same everywhere from Sep 28 - Oct 02, 2025. I hope it helps.
Great initiative @Shaunak ! I can’t wait to explore and share about nearby puja pandals, especially the ones less known. Thanks for bringing this challenge! #DurgaPuja2025
