Después de estar 3 años en Europa, he decidido volver a mis país. Debo decir que estos primeros días me me he sentido desplazada, sí, así es, desplazada en mi propio país. Vivir en un país (Italia) tan diferente al mío me ha hecho ver las cosas con una perspectiva muy diferente… Cosas que me eran tan naturales y normales ahora se han vuelto casi extrañas para mí… Es una sensación muy curiosa realmente no sé si les ha pasado algo similar luego de estar mucho tiempo fuera de sus países de origen. Sé que es solo cuestión de tiempo volver a sentirme en casa, pero si hay algo de lo que estoy completamente segura es de que jamás seré la misma persona que se fue tres años atrás… Jamás. Una parte de mi ser se quedó esparcida en cada lugar y rincón que visite en Europa pero, al mismo tiempo, esa misma parte que se iba vaciando poco a poco y de manera casi imperceptible, se fue llenando y enriqueciendo con miles de cosas que han dado como resultado la persona que soy ahoraen…
Aquí les comparto algunas fotos de mi regreso. Veo tanta belleza en cosas que otros considerarían nimiedades, tantos colores, tanta vida… Me siento feliz de estar en casa.

Wow you lived in Italy, how long and where exactly? Have you been here for business or pleasure? It is nice to read your story about your return back home and thank you for sharing those wonderful photos.

Thanks for sharing your experience and these wonderful pictures with us. It is always a challenge to move to another country, whether we are leaving or we’re coming back home. I think I know the feeling because I am Italian and I am currently living abroad.
You are right about losing small pieces of our identities and adding new layers day after day, in each new place we see. Oftentimes I questioned some habits I had, things that for everyone else back home were normal just because everyone was doing things that way. And I’ve enjoyed new ways to do things too, some new habits I acquired.
We learn a lot and we grow this way, too: this is the beauty of life and probably one of the reasons we like to travel, to discover new places, to know new cultures. For sure this is one of the reasons I love to be a Local Guide so much, and that’s why I enjoy Connect, where I can find like-minded people from all over the globe, with the same passion for the beauty of our world.
